This is another CharlotteZero sample I never got around to logging. It’s pretty similar to Financier, though less assertive with the vanilla. Pretty much all of what I said about that tea applies here: it reminds me of Butiki’s Creamy Eggnog, I have issues with sweet and creamy flavorings mixed with green tea, etc. It’s an okay tea, but not really to my taste. I think of the two I slightly preferred Financier.
Yay, this is the last of my Héritage Gourmand samples from boychik and CharlotteZero! This one is based on the madeleine, which is a little baby sponge cake that’s baked in a mold that resembles a shell. The base of this tea appears to be sencha or something similar, and there are yellow cornflower petals mixed in. Dry scent is generic grassy green tea with some sweet cakey notes.
The steeped aroma is pretty much the same – grassy and sugar/butter. Meh, I think this sample is pretty old, it seems to have lost all of its flavor. All I can taste is mediocre grassy green tea. Withholding rating!

This tea didn’t do it for me like the other teas in the heritage gourmand line. I got a little bit of cake flavour, but it was nothing special. I enjoyed the cup but would not purchase this if I ever made an MF order.

I had this one before bed last night, but was too sleepy to log it. If you’re wondering why I haven’t been reading/liking your posts, it’s because I’m in the middle of doing our wine club. This involves emailing each of our wine club members about the spring release, updating new information, customizing orders, charging credit cards, and creating shipping templates…None of which is automized, but at least we don’t do fulfillment on-site.
Anyway, about the tea. This one was definitely different than the financier. In the financier, the prominent flavors were the brown butter and the almond. This one tasted like a lighter, sweet buttery cake. I have to admit, I really like these tea flavors a lot.
Oh, one other thing…The base green tea on these reminds me of a formosa oolong. That is what the leaves look similar to after steeping (not that they are rolled the same way), and it has the same kind of almost fruity sweetness that something like a milk oolong has. This I’m not too fond of. I wish they had used a more nutty green as the base.
