Pineapple Chamomile Infusion

No deceased Chinese mafia dogs for me tonight, please. (They must have been really mini Shih Tzus. Don’t mind me, just see previous tasting note.)

Therefore, and since I was one bag shy of a sipdown anyway, I made this to relax with. Hot bath, pumpkin pie, comfort reading.

For newbies and cheapsters, this really is one of the better Lipton pyramid-bag offerings; good enough to buy a repeat someday. Enough pineapple to overshadow the chamomile flavor. Isn’t it funny that chamomile is perceived as a light, restful, delicate herbal, but it’s so strong you just can’t shout the flavor down much?

Sleep tight. Don’t let the shar pei’s bite.

Had this when I got home from work to help me unwind. I really like the pineapple because it is sweet without overpowering the chamomile and made it something special. :)

This tea is just… weird. I don’t know if it’s that pineapple and chamomile is a combination that doesn’t work as well as it sounds like it would or if Lipton just did a bad job getting the balance right, but it just tastes strange.

As I sit here I am very anxiously awaiting my first purchase of loose leaf tea from Adagio with my very fetching tea steeper. While I was waiting I figured I could review a brand of tea I am very familiar with, Lipton Pyramid Infusions.
I was ecstatic when I stumbled upon this new brand grocery shopping. The box alone looked so nice and bright and it was on sale for only $2 and I figured it looked nicer than my usual bagged tea. So I snatched up three boxes to try asap.
The smell is lovely. The pineapple is very prominent the longer you let it steep and the chamomile is a soft fragrant background note. The taste is very fruity and a little floral, not as strong as I would have liked though. I decided to add a little agave to see how it takes to it.
The agave surprisingly seemed to bring out the chamomile more than the pineapple. The fruitiness took a background seat to the floral explosion of flavor. Next time I think I will use refined white sugar but for now I will finish this delicious cup.

Picked this tea up about a year ago in NY. I have not seen it here in the midwest. I didn’t add sweetener, as the fragrance of the fruit and chamomile was so sweet, I decided it wasn’t really needed. This is a very mild tea, even after a long steep time. The scent tends toward the pineapple, yet the taste is more the chamomile. Did not really notice any licorice notes, as perceived by another reviewer. However, there’s a slight aftertaste of bubble gum, which I did not care for. There’s a little rawness at the back of my throat, but I think I may have a mild allergy to plants in the chamomile family. All in all still a decent herbal tea, good for relaxing on a summer’s night, or for adding to blends of other teas.

Very light. Good for a warm summer night. Pineapple flavor lingers in mouth the more you let it steep (I keep the bad in the cup while sipping). No need for sweetener. Smells like pineapple, citrus, and licorice, though all I taste is pineapple and chamomile.

Sooooooo close to sipping these tea bags down. So so close. I just want to sip it all down. xD I have like two more bags left. I feel so close…and yet so far. >< Oyyy

The flavor for this tea was really light on first tasting, but I just dumped water in a pot and didn’t measure so that may be why. Thankfully I wasn’t able to taste my arch enemy, licorice root.

I love my pineapple teas even though they often seem to disappoint. After trying it once I decided to try another cup with a longer steep. It brought out the pineapple which is what I wanted. I added a little monk’s fruit. It’s quite yummy! This will be a great bedtime tea and I think it will be good cold brewed. I love it that Lipton’s is stepping up their quality and choices.
