From Frontier Natural Products Co-op

Sarsaparilla refers to two seperate genus of plants, one native to South Asia (primarily India), the other native to Central and South America. Primarily used as a flavoring for beverages, it is traditionally used in cordials and tonics as a blood purifier and detox agent.

Directions: To prepare as a tea, add 1-2 teaspoons of herb to 8 oz. water in a pot. Cover and simmer for 15-30 minutes, strain and serve immediately.

Based on the smell, I didn’t think I would like this tea at all. While brewing it has a very strong medicinal smell. It calms down a bit and while sipping reminds me or herbal sodas like traditional birch beer, root beer, and dandelion/burdock soda. Some sips taste a bit too floral and soapy, but other sips are clean and herbal.

Thanks for the sample Suziqzer! I have another serving left & will re-evaluate when I taste again.
