From Friday Afternoon

This dark toasted oolong blend tastes a like a cozy night or teatime in the library! Our Wyvern-inspired tea features bright orange peel with notes of cinnamon, persimmon, and coriander. The perfect thing to sip as you read your favorite fairy tales!

Ingredients: Oolong tea, persimmon, orange peel, cinnamon, coriander

All of our teas available online are gluten-free and sourced from organically certified farms. Most are vegan, but some may include honey (indicated in ingredients).

Steep at 185° F for 3-5 minutes.

Well, this should be interesting. I dislike coriander as much as I do cilantro. But I will tolerate it when it mixes well into salsa or curry… etc. OH. MY Covers and squishes face I smell it. Big NOPE face. Do not like the wet/steeping smell. I mean, it’s not a bad taste. I could see it working in some recipes. Maybe tilapia. But Do I want to just drink this? It’s sippable. I’m still drinking it. It’s smooth. Maybe would mix well with bourbon. But it shouldn’t be just tea. That’s the problem.

Just going through some of the Friday Afternoon tea blends today and I haven’t been overly impressed so far. So far I have had the Pomegrante black, Star dust and now A-L’s for teas. I have had a few herbal blends in the past that I have tried as well. Overall, so far I haven’t been really enjoyed anything enough from them to hold on to them or finish them which makes me sort of sad. I still have a few black blends and an oolong and hojicha blend left to try but hopefully I find one that clicks with me.

Tasting Note: Oolong has some roasted notes but not very strong. There is some light amount of cinnamon and citrus. But mostly tastes pretty thin. I put probably 3 tsps in 12 oz so i just dont think its my cup of tea.

I so desperately want to love this tea. The ingredients are chunky and beautiful (particularly the big slices of persimmon). It also smells amazing- like spiced autumn fruits. But, the flavor is really, really lacking. The charcoal roast on the oolong is so strong that I can’t taste any of the other flavors, even cinnamon (which smells quite strong in this blend). I wish a different base tea was used, as this tea has so much potential.
