From English Tea Store

Imagine, the sour flavor of bergamot oil in Earl Grey tea softened by a background hint of cream. This mellow tea tastes great hot, with a pinch of sugar.

This is a naturally flavored black tea. We use natural high grown Ceylon tea from estates at more than 5500 feet above sea level. We add natural flavor to give a clean true taste with no chemical aftertaste.

For the best brew, Earl Grey Cream Tea should steep in water that has reached a rolling boil for 2-5 minutes.

98% or more of this tea comes from estates that are part of the Ethical Tea Partnership. The ETP is an initiative started within the tea industry to monitor and regulate living and working conditions on estates around the world.

Special Thanks to Azzrian for this one!!!

This is a softer EG or at the very least toned down by the cream. The cream is very nicely done. I have found other companies tend to over-due it with the cream in EG Cream type flavored teas but this is VERY GOOD.

YUP!! This is a goodie!

This is a very good Earl Grey Cream. Smooth and calming. I added a little sugar in the raw and a tad bit of milk to mine and it really brought out the cream in this tea although I could taste it before hand as well. The bergamot is perfectly balanced. No astringency or aftertaste. I do believe the smell of bergamot in the bag when leaf is dry is stronger than the outcome when brewed so if you have smelled this and fear it may be too much for you don’t worry – brew it up – its very pleasing!
Not AS complex as some Earl Grey’s I have had but you know I really like to have this in my stash because its always dependable and always consistent.
I also do like English Tea Store as well as a vendor.

Thanks Azzrian for sharing! After trying another Earl Grey Cream, and now this one, I think I prefer the non-cream Earl Greys, but there’s certainly nothing wrong with this one. I think the quality is fine. For those who like the more subdued flavors of an Earl Grey Cream, it’s worth trying. I steeped it at 2 min. 45 seconds and got no bitterness.

I tasted the plain liquid in my mug.

Was it…caramel?

What did I taste?

It was…vanilla? cream?

What was it…licorice? Yes.

And what else….flowers?

Yes It was like drinking nectar from…what kind of flower…

Honey Suckles, like the ones back home in California…yet these suckles were made with licorice…

Red or Black…black licorice for sure…

Sweet and cream were added.

What was it…Creamy? Caramely?

It was…light…bright…yet heavy like twilight…

What was that flavor…Licorice? flowers? creamy caramel? All of the above, I think.

The flavors were wet and heavy in my mouth with an aftertaste of…cream? No…more like melted caramel…

It was like laying in a pasture of colorful flowers, petals tickling my nose and scattering over my body…The aroma of nectar…The hum of bees over my head…A gentle breeze…

Then I swallowed.

Everything vanished.

I took another sip…

I was back in that pasture, full of delight.

I swallowed and it vanished again.

I had no choice but to keep sipping away at the sweet liquid until it was gone…

This tea was very calming and just perfect for a boring and hazy night on the couch all alone.

So I bought this a while ago now… I have had it a couple times…. This is one of those teas that were raved about on Steepster, and I was looking for a good Earl Cream, so it was time to buy it and try it.  However, I feel like it must have had a drastic flavor change from the supplier since so many loved it years ago… this is what happened with Zen’s Earl Grey Cream years ago too (it might even be the same now?).  Suddenly a blend changes.  The bergamot just isn’t my favorite and has that slight bug spray tang to it, the cream is hardly there, and the black tea isn’t as dark as I’d like it to be.  So I wish I could try the blend everyone raved about back then… well, now I know this isn’t the one for me and I have finally written my opinion on it. I think I might be the pickiest with EGCs!
Steep #1 // 1 1/3 teaspoons // 27 minutes after boiling // 2 minute steep
Steep #2 // just boiled // 3 1/2 min steep
