Cooking TTB #20

This was my very last sample from the Cooking TTB, as I sent it off to The Cookie Lady today. There were so many teas in this box that I loved! Unfortunately, this wasn’t one of them. I found it to be very grassy, which is my least favorite flavor profile for green tea. There was a little bit of fruity flavor, but it didn’t really come across as fig. This isn’t something I’d ever care to drink again, but I still enjoyed the opportunity to try so many teas I had never heard of from companies I’ve never ordered from!

Agh. I’m so sorry on that one! I should have put some notes about it. It’s an extremely fickle tea. Also find that it needs honey.

Inkling

Don’t worry about it! There were lots in this box that I loved. :) Thanks for organizing it!

From the Cooking TTB

This is a pleasant grassy green tea with fruity notes. If I pay close attention I can pick out the fig, but it’s not in your face distinctive.

This reminds me a lot of a bunch of other fruity senchas that I have in my collection, so not quite as stand out or unique as I was hoping, but still nice and drinkable.

This one is sooo much better when it’s fresh and with a dab of honey.

This is one of my favorite teas. It is a well balanced mix of sencha and fruity flavors. I add honey to mine because I feel it brings out more of the flavors, but it is fine on it’s own too. Good slightly cooler but not cold. I found this tea in a cafe called Eggsperience in Chicago. They say a man makes the tea for them but I wasn’t able to get his information for steepster. If any of you live in Chicago you should go there, pick up one of the teas, and ask if this guy has a webpage.
