Hello, everyone! I’ve been away from Steepster because I quit drinking tea for a bit. Something with the change of seasons really messed up my sleep schedule, so I cut caffeine out altogether. But now that I’m no longer doing the insomniac shuffle I’m happily back to my lovely cuppas. Yay!

This is a nice morning mint tea. It has enough of a kick to get me going, but I also find the mint soothing. The smokiness is pleasing and perfect for this time of year. I do think this has lost some of its flavor, but it’s been almost a year since I bought it. There’s only a tiny bit left, so I’ll try to use it up this week.

Glad you’re back! :)

Thanks!

Incredibly well! I add them directly to my flowerbeds, and my lilies are HUGE. :) For my vegetable garden I add the leaves to my compost pile.

Trying this one thanks to a sample from TastyBrew! Gunpowder seems to be a new favorite in the greens department. This one is VERY good. After cooling the water a while and a couple minutes steep, the mint here takes over. The green tea is just a whisper, even though as it is gunpowder, it should be stronger flavored than most. I love the mint though! ALSO, this has a slight creamy vanilla hint. I love the hint of vanilla & mint together. This is so minty I’ll save the last teaspoon when I have a headache. I love this one!

minty good! it smells awesome and looks alien!
i always think gunpowder green looks kinda alien when it’s in those little balls.

can i just say… The Baby!
my god the baby cried and cried and cried last night. mom is out of town and dad is taking care of her alone for the first time and at some point like around 4:30 am i just flat out gave up trying to sleep and started reading.
i would be more compassionate with the guy, but lately i’ve been at my limit with men and their anger and their inability to manage their stress like a grown-up. and how it’s all in our media and messin with our politics and stuff, making beautiful things and potential all stifled and choked-off, so i know i’m not as tolerant as i should be on the inside, but THIS is what happens when you GET NO SLEEP hah
catch 22 for sure.

Can’t go wrong with a Moroccan Mint, especially to clear the palate after The Skinny Incident.

This is a hearty blend of cooling mint and gunpowder green. It’s one of my fave tea combos and this delivers. :)

So apparently Moroccan mint can have peppermint, spearmint, or both. This one is peppermint. I got it because there was a sale and my husband wanted more moroccan mint. The one he had before was spearmint. We both prefer the spearmint one. But this isn’t bad. The gunpowder green base seems to come through stronger, I think. It smells a lot more smoky than the spearmint blend did.

I’m not gonna lie, I’m not in love with this tea. Dry, it smells fabulous! Very pepperminty, which was just what I was feeling today. The first time I steeped it, I probably steeped it too long. The gunpowder tea was incredibly strong and bitter, and there was hardly any peppermint coming through. I also didn’t sweeten it, which was probably a mistake, but I’m trying to not consume very much artificial sweetener or sugar. I did sweeten the cup I just had, and I didn’t steep it for too long this time, but I’m still not digging this tea. The sugar helped bring out the peppermint a bit more, but it wasn’t really fabulous. The other reviewers mentioned smokiness. I didn’t really taste “smokey”, just unnecessary bitterness. Granted, when I think smokey, I think lapsong souchong levels of smoke (which is fabulous), so perhaps I’m biased or looking for the wrong flavor. I’ll probably drink the rest of my sample package, and maybe I’ll update this if I’ve just been preparing the tea wrong and it absolutely blows me away, but right now, I’m glad that I don’t have too much of this.
