Searched my iced tea stash today for some interesting options, and found this one. Not sure if I’d ever tried it previously; the packet was unopened. Brewed it up fairly strong, and it was actually rather pleasant – not really what I was expecting. It didn’t really taste like mango, but was very tropical-fruity and pleasantly sweet with a tart undertone, but also an undercurrent of artificial flavouring. However, no stevia – a pleasant surprise.

This smells strongly of delicious sour candy as it’s sitting beside me. The flavor is really tasty and bright too. It’s like citrus and mango candy. I really enjoy it cold. They were having a BOGO tin sale, and I’m glad I chose this one! Not too tart at all – really one of the best fruit teas I’ve had in a while.

Iced Tea/Cold Brew Sipdown (262)

I made this in my iced tea press yesterday afternoon and then didn’t end up drinking it. My sister threw it in the fridge and it sat there until I grabbed it tonight.

My tastebuds must have been having a day off because this tasted like an overly sweet caramel popcorn…with candied mango. I was not a fan but also I think something went wrong.

Sipdown….been too frustrated to log much of anything lately, which in turn frustrates me because my count/logs/thoughts on the teas that I had over the past 2 weeks or so are gone. Oh well. Sipdown, so that’s nice…..maybe I’ll get a few more done over August. Waiting on a sale with a tea company to pick up more pina colada but they keep not having one! Booo. This one was decent enough to drink but not exciting enough for me to keep it over pina colada when the other tea is cheaper and tastier.

I think this is my least favourite of the three new teas, though I do still like it a fair bit. My main thing with this blend is that it’s really sweet, and the kind of flavour profile that I personally feel like I would get sick of quite quickly if I drank it over and over…

The main profile here is a very juicy and slightly tangy mango flavour paired with a creamy, tropical coconut profile. It’s very coating in the mouth, and while you get a tinge of tang/acidity it’s primarily a candied mango note with a creamy coconut undertone. It reminds me a little bit of this off brand mango ice cream I had once that was surprisingly tangy with a SUPER rich “mango ripple” that ran throughout it. It was the kind of thing that tasted amazing, but after a small scoop of it the flavour was too rich to have much more…

And because I would feel bad not saying it, the stevia is pretty darn strong in this one. In general, I seem to have a much higher tolerance for stevia than a lot of people do but even I’m struggling a little bit with the presence of it in this blend. It’s a strong tea on its own, so with that added stevia element I tend to keep the steep times for this tea pretty short. I think it’s better/less noticeable when you ice the blend.

I picked up some of this for myself, mostly for cold brewing, but I am sure I will drink it sparingly so that I don’t tire of it too quickly…
