From DAVIDsTEA

If you’re looking for a tea that’s as fresh and sophisticated as your OOTD, you’ve come to the right place. Exploding with ripe blackberries and jasmine-scented green tea, this juicy blend will blow you away with fruity and floral flavour. Bonus: jasmine’s aromatic superpowers are said to help calm the mind and boost creativity. Looks like blackberry is the new black.

How it tastes:

Sweet and tart fruitiness, with a slight astringency and a beautiful floral finish

What makes it great:

● It’s bursting with fragrant, fruity flavours that’ll make your mouth water.

● Need to relax? Jasmine tea is said to help relieve stress and calm the mind.

● Delicious hot or iced.

50 g of this tea makes around 10-12 16 oz cups of hot tea and 5-7 16 oz cups of iced tea.

Apple, green tea scented with jasmine flowers, hibiscus, rosehip shells, blackberries, natural flavouring.

Certification: Kosher

I was so excited for this tea. Unfortuantly it does not live up to its name.

I brewed it in 500ish mL cold water _ ice for ~10 minutes.
I taste no jasmine and nothing distinctly blackberry. It isn’t even floral. There is a fruitiness here, however I can’t make out any particular fruits. It is also verging on tart for some reason. The green tea can’t be tasted except if you leave the tea to steep overnight in the fridge. The result was the bitterness of overbrewed green tea but no green tea flavour…and still no jasmine.

Hmm. This tea is sweet, and fruity… but I’m not getting any jasmine in particular. I do think I can detect blackberry, though there’s definitely a bunch of vague fruitiness as well (I think apple chunks in blends contribute to that). Not what I was expecting/hoping for. I suppose I expected a little less fruit tisane, a little more flavoured tea. But that’s not how DavidsTea does things.

Anyways, perfectly fine tea. Not quite what I hoped, but no weird flavours, and since it’s naturally sweet, it’s likely a good choice for a refreshing iced tea. Will try and remember to brew and chill the remainder.

I’ve seen a lot of people on instagram and the DT Fan page over on FB comment about how this tea doesn’t taste like jasmine at all/is all blackberry – so I decided to revisit it since I’ve always found the jasmine quite strong enever I’ve drank it.

This time I had it iced, and though I enjoyed the sweetness and refreshing quality of the blackberry in the blend a lot I did still find I was getting quite a strong jasmine note as well. I don’t know why I’m picking up so intensely on the jasmine – but I just am. Honestly, I’d enjoy this one a lot more if I wasn’t getting so much jasmine so I do wish I my taste buds were interpreting the blend the same way that other people seem to be. It’s just not happening, though…

Friendly reminder that I do not numerically rate DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m currently employed there and it would be an obvious conflict of interest. Any blends you see with numerical ratings were rated prior to my employment there. These reviews are a reflection of my personal thoughts regarding the teas, and not the company’s.

Are you not a big jasmine fan? I find that when you don’t like a particular flavour, it seems to stand out more. E.g. my husband hates coconut, and can pick it up in anything, even when I don’t.

That makes sense to me, Kittenna. I know I’ll have people taste-test things in the breakroom for banana for me, they’ll tell me, “There’s no banana in that!” then I’ll go take a bite and retch because I can taste the banana quite clearly. I swear one slice can be in a fruit smoothie with twenty other fruits and I’d taste it and gag.

I seem to like jasmine in just about everything except for green tea.
