Trying my sample of this before I make my first purchases of the summer collection. As a side note for all 3 of the new summer teas I tried (this, Mango Fruit Punch, and Rhubarb Cream Soda), they all tasted better after an extra 5+ minutes of steeping. I don’t think the sample packets are ever quite enough to truly make a good-tasting 16 oz. cup of tea.
Anyway, after my initial steep of 5 1/2 minutes (right in the middle of suggested range of 4-7 minutes), this tea was pretty “meh.” It smelled SO good, very melon-y, in the package. But the melon favor was very diminished in the tea. The brewed tea definitely has that deeper, almost pungent scent of cantaloupe. The melon scent combined with what I assume is the moringa (mildly seaweed-y?) made this smell like an all-natural beauty spa or lotion or something.
I steeped another 10 minutes and after that, the melon flavor started to come out more. I think if you could get this strong enough, it probably would taste really good iced with a few chunks of melon and a little lime in it to bring out the flavors better.
