I follow the directions exactly. Water NEVER above the line and sometimes even use less than the 1/2 tsp of macha powder.
The only problem I am facing now is that the pressure button came apart from the rest of the lid this morning.. :(
I can still use it though. I am waiting to hear back from David’s Tea regarding this issue…

I use this everyday to make matcha. I make it hot and cold, and never fill past the line on the cup. The only time it exploded on me was when I mindlessly shook it and opened it while driving. The button works to relieve pressure to prevent this otherwise. I would absolutely recommend this for those who are on-the-go and want to whip up some matcha beforehand.

So this thing exploded on you, and you still gave it 100?

This travel tea tumbler is sweet! It does the job mixing matcha (as well as other tea/chocolate/protein mixes) and has a nifty pressure release valve so the unit doesn’t leak or explode in your face. I love it even as a regular tea tumbler as it’s light weight, durable non glass and it can roll around my purse without leaks or threat of air expansion.

The big problem with this travel tumbler is cleaning it (so many nooks and crannies in the froth attachment thing) and if you use it with hot milk you need to be extra careful. I use soy milk and it froths up a lot, so it goes past the safe line and will hiss out the button if you aren’t careful.
