Jungle fever
Want to take a walk on the wild side? Try this intriguingly rich black tea. It’s laced with all kinds of delicious jungle treasures, from dark coffee beans and energizing yerba maté to tart hibiscus, fruity mango and super-healthy açaipowder. Plus there’s the sweet, rich taste of lucuma, a delicious Peruvian fruit known as “Gold of the Incas.” Aside from its ancient healing powers and health benefits, lucuma is also an amazing maple-like sweetener that’s naturallylow in sugar. Sweet.
Ingredients: Black Tea, black currant, mango, barberry, coffee bean, juniper berry, hibiscus, roasted yerba mate, lucuma powder, acerola powder, baobab fruit powder, acai powder, coffee flavor, natural strawberry flavor, natural and artificial plum, sugar cane and cherry flavour.

Dry: Brown mix of what appears to be coffee beans, powders, and dried fruit. Smells like strawberries (on the artificial side), cocoa, and maybe roasted mate? I’ve never had mate before, so I am not sure what it is supposed to smell or taste like.
Steeped: Very cloudy brown liquor. Smells like coffee scented with berries in the teapot.
Taste: Straight up, this one has a weak roasted coffee flavor to this former coffee drinker with a mix of medicinal berry aftertastes mingled in. It isn’t horrible and I can tolerate it straight, but it is more enjoyable to me diluted with a good bit of milk more like a latte. I wouldn’t personally buy this to have again, but glad I was able to sample it. I’d like to try more mate blends at some point for comparison, but this one definitely didn’t hold a candle to my good teas.
1.5 tsp for 300mL water @98C, steeped five minutes.
Odd.
A heavy artificial cherry flavour, like cough drops or cough syrup. Some acai notes. Coffee and roasted mate. Something sharp in the scent — probably juniper. Hibiscus comes out more with each sip. Damn it, why hibiscus? It ends up dominating everything it touches. (I loathe hibiscus. I knew it was in the blend, but I remain optimistic that it will work this time, somehow … it never does.)
Four sips in and I have to toss it. I want to like this. Can’t stop thinking about cherry Vicks drops.
Between Jumpy Monkey and Cocoberry I admit to liking this one a bit more. Mostly because the berries are more pronounced than the coffee. That being said I find that the coffee actually is what brings out the flavor and scent of the berries. But it could be just the buzz talking. (I had this one night that I was on very little sleep).
In short if you like the idea of having coffee without actually drinking it straight this might be a good option. Since you can fool your mind into thinking it isn’t drinking coffee. As you can tell I am no coffee drinker…so before I ramble on even further. Give Cocoberry a go, you might be surprised. Cheers!
I need caffeine in the morning, trust me… 2 kids, a dog, 2 guinea pigs.. = lots of caffeine.. so far tea, as much as I love it (and I do love it), it has not replaced my morning coffee. Today I tried COCOBERRY for a change. I like it, it sort of tastes like coffee with cherries. I am really liking the cherries in this one. In the past whenever I have had a tea with cherries they have reminded me of cough medicine, but not this one. This one is done right, maybe because it has other berries in it, like strawberry. Anyway, I don’t know if it will replace my morning coffee (lets wait for the caffeine to kick in), but its good. I am happy I bought it.
Dry Leaf Nose: The fresh exciting aroma of berries and the warm roasty scent of roasted mate with a slightly pungent note of juniper.
Liquor: Dark rich brown-red liquor with an exciting aroma of berries and the warm roasty scent of roasted mate.
Flavour: Delicious and intriguing flavours of mixed fresh berries and drome fruits (cherries) with an underpinning roastiness from the mate and coffee beans. The lucuma brings a richness similar to maple and yam. It is a very complex and luscious cup with a lasting, sweet finish.
Didn’t hate it, but I didn’t like it either. I’m not typically a fan of mate (for some reason, it always tastes bubblegummy to me), so I wasn’t really surprised. If it hadn’t been a part of the Fall Collection set, I wouldn’t have tried it. There’s a lot going on here – all of the extra “bits” made the water really scummy – but I still got that weird, lingering mate taste.
That said, it’s nice to keep on hand for those mornings that require a little extra something to wake me up, I guess.
So tomorrow is the big day. They are (Hopefully) going to remove all my tumor with no complications. Keep your fingers crossed! Keep your best teas out in my honor ;)
I’m very hesitant about this tea..partially because of the coffee-spiked nature of it and I still have no learned how to properly prepare mate so it’s just a DT tea bag.(shameful I know!) I need the energy though desperately I have so many errands to run today!
In the pouch it smells like crazy coffee infused raisins..with an almost fruit leather vibe. I like it. It also smells different every time.
Once Brewed it smells very nice like coffee bean infused berries. And I only drink coffee if it has been flavored to within an inch of it’s life!So saying it smells good is HUGE in my personal tea development.
As for taste..NOTHING like i feared it would be…sultry,warming,berryful and just the nicest kick of coffee that would be good even for people who HATE coffee.
Lovely berry tea with lovely accents.
An adult berry juice box!
This tea was my least favourite of the new fall teas, though I wasn’t expecting much else from it. I think mainly because it has way too many ingredients. It has so many different powders in it which actually come through in the drink. I don’t know how something can taste powdery, but this one does. I like the coffee flavour in it, but the berry flavour is quite artificial tasting to me. It’s not bad, but it’s not something I could include in my regular line up.
