From DAVIDsTEA

ish you were Irish? Don’t we all. That’s why we came up with this vanilla-sweet black tea. It tastes like Irish Cream and has the colours of the Irish flag: green strawberry leaves, orange carrot shavings and white coconut flakes. Plus yellow safflowers for luck. It’s almost enough to inspire some Riverdancing. Especially if you add a real shot of liqueur. Top of the morning to you!

I liked this tea quite a bit. If you like Irish Cream, you are likely to like this tea because it’s a superb replication of the aroma and the flavor of a good Irish Cream. True, they did not add the alcohol but everything else is there.

The dry leaves are very attractive and colorful. The aroma is quintessance of Bailey’s Irish Cream. The taste is lovely and I cannot disagree with anyone who would give this a rating of “100”. I don’t because I am using that rating for the flavors that make me lose control—-as Patty Duke reputedly did with a hot dog—-. I have always liked Irish Cream but never loved it.

I got the French label which seems to think I’ll engage in an Irish jig (gigue) upon drinking this. I feel as sedentary as ever, but I also enjoyed this tea a lot. I would not make a special order just for this tea, but next time I order from David’s tea, I will probably purchase Irish Cream again.

Admittedly I didn’t like it as much as I remember the first time, but due to the fact that this tea singlehandedly turned me onto DAVIDsTEA (and is still a good cuppa), I’m refusing to lower my rating.

The tea actually has a scent reminiscent of bubble gum, which I’ve never been able to understand, though it certainly is pleasant.

As an experiment, I tried it three ways: clear, with milk, and with Baileys. I found I liked the plain more once no longer piping hot. The carrot leaves a nice aftertaste. Milk wasn’t bad, though it would be better with a stronger blend this way. I found that it was easy for the Baileys to overpower the tea, but that didn’t stop me from loving it.

So, it wasn’t bad all three ways, but hot with Baileys or slightly cooler straight, I think are the best ways to have it.

I have approximately enough for one more brew after today. I am going to miss this tea.

Drew finally followed through and brought me the Irish Cream he’s been promising me for ages, yay! \o/

Though, to be honest, I was not impressed with it last night. It just didn’t knock my socks off. I’ll brew it again to my normal parameters, as he made the pot of this. Maybe I’m just being picky and the next cup will wow me. But it tasted like a vanilla black with an odd note of something that I assume is meant to be Irish Cream.

It made my whole tea cupboard smell like it. Not very appealing after a few months of this aroma. I did not find it very impressive straight up but with a little milk added, its not bad. Just not greatest experience.

If you are going to get this tea be prepared to smell it for ages.

Reminds me of the Buttered Rum. I mean, I keep it in a tin on my counter so it doesn’t stink up the cupboard.. but I don’t even want to use my pot/strainer/anything to make it sometimes because I don’t want the next tea to end up tasting like coconut… :P

This is the tea that made me give up coffee forever. It tastes exactly like Irish Cream, and sweetened with a bit of milk and sugar it’s definitely one of my favorites. I cannot get enough.

Used to be one of my favourites, which led to me overdoing it and getting sick of it. A few months later, it’s back to going into my rotation of teas-to-have. Delicious and smooth (and even better with some actual Bailey’s!)

I think this just might be my favourite new tea. The smell is divine, and it tastes delish hot and cold. I prefer it iced, with a tiny bit of agave. Adding in some real Irish Cream makes for a decadent treat, when hot.

It smells mysterious, but is not that good if you like your tea straight. It is much better iced though. Sweetened iced with milk is quite yummy and it does make me think ‘irish cream’.
