My tasting note for tea number one never went to the dashboard. It exists in my tealog, and was in browse most recent, but nothing on dashboard. Shae still shows up late for me, as in, I read all the new dashboard stuff, come back and scroll to the last point I had read, go back a little more and there is a new note from Shae. Hmmm. It doesn’t seem to do it consistently with anyone else. Guess it is time to head for the bug thread.

So here is my second May sipdown prompt tea – a geeky tea, and this is the last geeky tea I have remaining. All my Star Wars and Star Trek themed teas are gone, as well as my LoTR.
And this one is tasting super good today.

When I first got it, it was not one that excited me a lot, but it has definitely grown on me. The first problem was I drank it with waffles and it just sort of disappeared. It is way too sweet to go with waffles! Having it with oatmeal today and it is a gentle, lovely cup of soft maple and spice oolong.

Nice, gentle, sweet, softly warming.

Yeah, my feed has been acting like that, too.

Also, I am just sure I was following dreamloomer and saw a note on browse and when I clicked it showed me as not following. I used to see their notes all the time! So I re-followed.

This is honestly the perfect Eleven/Stranger Things tea concept, so I was obviously massively excited to try it – even if I am always dubious of maple teas coming from American companies. Unless your company is based in Vermont, and then you get a pass…

I messed up my steeping for this and forgot I was steeping it, so unfortunately my cup was tannic as all hell and oversteeped. However, despite all of that I got a very rich and sweet gooey maple syrup note that forced its way through all the bitterness and astringency – so I feel like with more care and attention this would probably be a really delicious tea! Excited to eventually do my cup over again, and get a proper read on it.

Looking at the ingredients, it seems to be the same tea as Mornin’ Waffles.

Roswell Strange

That would make sense, given the geekdom/character.

Sipdown! Not sure if it’s because I didn’t use any sweetener this time around, or it’s just a bit older, but it doesn’t taste like an Eggo any longer. It has a tiny bit of a cinnamon/maple flavor, but it’s pretty bland.
