From Cultivate Tea

茉莉银针

Harvest
July 2021

Origin
Hengxian, Guangxi

An delightful and enchanting jasmine green tea made with only the buds of Fuding Dabahao varietal of white tea trees that are indigenous to Fuding ,Fujian.

The buds are made into green tea in April, and set aside to await for the blossoming of the jasmine flowers in July. Scenting was done in small batches. Tiny jasmine blossoms are scattered with the tea leaves on bamboo mats overnight, where the tea leaves gradually absorb the delicate aromas of the blossoms. The next morning, craftsmen separate the jasmine flowers from the tea leaves, and the tea is baked over charcoal for a few hours. This Jasmine Silver Tips received 5 rounds of scenting.

An intoxicating and delightful but not overpowering jasmine tea. It is enchanting and uplifts the spirit.

Harvest July 2022
From TTB that was around in 2023.

Yep, another one I just took to try later and today is the day for this tea.

Prepared gongfu, more or less as vendor suggests

High marks for this jasmine tea! Lovely, fresh and strong jasmine notes with great base tea, that complements the flowers well. The base is, as SkySamurai notices a bit melon like, I could not notice any of the earthiness which is, definitely, a good sign.
Intoxicating (a good used word by vendor) aroma with fruity notes of the base, smooth and velvety in the mouth all 6 steeps long; while the last one was somehow weak in jasmine indeed and more of the green (really?, rather I think white) tea. It was so nice in mouth and so enjoayble… that I think I need more of this tea from Canadian company.

Predictive AI is getting a little too good these days. The last four teas I’ve typed in gave me exactly the one I wanted on top even though there were plenty of others to choose from. This tea has the fuzz! Trichomes SQUEEE! Look at these leaves! That is precision picking right there! These silver tips are just gorgeous. And the scenting with jasmine must have taken forever. I really applaud the effort they go through to make scented teas like this. The dry aroma is rich with jasmine. As it steeps the aroma carries me away to Kaua’i. Even with 1 – 2 minutes of steeping the watercolor has barely changed. A slight bit of amber but nothing more. The jasmine flavor is light but amazing. You really need a steeping time of at least 4-5 mins in order to taste it. There is a bit of earthiness to it too though it is difficult to describe as it seems like its just a mix oh and a bit of melon.
