This is a tasty tea! I like that it’s an oxidized oolong base instead of black tea, it gives it a bit more smoothness while still having enough body to carry the flavors. There’s apparently some roasted maté here as well, I’m not sure I taste it though.

It’s very sweet, with a strong maple character – makes sense, given its namesake. I’m not picking up on a lot of cream, which is a shame as that would make it taste more like French toast. There’s also (IMO) a bit too much cinnamon for French toast, it’s almost as strong as the maple here. It tastes good, but it veers more into coffee or crumb cake territory for me because of the strong cinnamon presence.

Super tasty, but I think I still prefer my Apple Cinnamon French Toast from S&V because of the addition of the apple! The oolong is a nice idea though.

Also, the name… 10/10

This uses a similar maple flavoring to the one Adagio uses, which has just never worked for me for some reason. It tastes a little smoky and like that flavoring, and that’s all I taste. It’s not bad, but I wish they had used the maple flavoring that 52teas uses instead.

Cream and sugar did help improve on the tea a little, but I’m still registering more tannin with it. I’m being a snob and want more vanilla cause I’m basic. There’s more to it though, and I do really like the contrast of the spices and I am really happy with the Wuyi oolong base. For now, it’s solid, I may rate it in the 70s, but I feel like there’s something I’m still missing.

I love the name and now I want to watch Ghostbusters again. I liked this tea well enough. True to indication, it reminds me of a French toast casserole. I’ve got a bit of a cold so I think my sense of taste is off. I might purchase this one in the future to give it another go.

Adventaggedon Day 10: Tea 4/7

Okay, new favourite tea name/pun alert! This is just equally clever as it is fun!

I wasn’t the only one freaking out about this tea either; I got a message in the afternoon from Marika who was also just obsessed! That’s not surprising though because if you listened to the Ghostbusters episode of our podcast you’ll know that Ghostbusts is a deep love of hers. It’s just lovely though that on top of the fun and everything else it’s just a good tea! One of the sweetest teas I’ve tried from Brutaliteas so far, though still not crossing into that cloying territory. Very distinctly maple tasting which feels appropriate for a French Toast blend. Just a little bit of cinnamon and some really nice malty roasty base tea notes as well. After trying it plain I added in a splash of eggnog and that just boosted the custardy notes and richness to a point that put me in nerdy festive breakfast tea heaven! Sooo good!
