From Bentley's

Delicately fragrant jasmine is the world’s most popular flavored green tea. Chinese Chun Mee green tea is scented by carefully layering the tea leaves with jasmine flowers which open only at night. This process is repeated for several evenings until the perfect flavor is achieved. Green tea is a great source of antioxidants, which are believed to strengthen the immune system, lower cholesterol, reduce blood pressure and even fight fatigue. Enjoy served hot or iced for a wonderful healthy treat! Contains 50 string and tag tea bags, each sealed in a foil pouch within the tin to preserve freshness.

Bentley’s Teas are prized by tea lovers everywhere for their full-bodied fragrance and exquisite flavor. We develop all of our prized teas by starting with only the finest teas from China, India or Sri Lanka. We then blend each tea with only the purest ingredients available along with the most delicate of processing techniques to create what we believe to be the perfect cup of tea.

It isn’t often that I come across a Jasmine tea that I really dislike, but this is one of those times. This just isn’t working for me at all. The jasmine is overwhelmingly strong to the point of smelling and tasting like soap. I don’t think I can finish the cup.

That’s so sad to hear, since Jasmine Green Tea is one of the best things on the planet. But I trust your judgment…and at least you could follow with something yummy. Thank you for sharing and helping us avoid the same fate!

Yes, thanks very much for sharing this. I adore jasmine green, but I’m damn picky about it, and only getting pickier. Now I can avoid wasting precious tea money. Soap belong in the bath, not the teapot.

LiberTEAS

I was actually quite surprised, because every other tea that I’ve tried from Bentley’s thus far has been pretty good. But this one just was not.

Michelle Butler Hallett

I’ve got a few at David’sTea like that. Must look further into Bentley’s.

Wow! I enjoyed this cup.
Yes, the Jasmine was quite fragrant,
But no soapy taste for me.
This was quite a relaxing tea for me…
leaving me with a comfy, cozy feeling
like your favorite sweater, sleeping in on
the weekend with your lover…
This may not be my all time favorite,
But I will enjoy it while it’s here.
Different strokes for different folks ;-)

second attempt and half strength!
still bad… it’s no where near as strong… (obviously) but the lighter flavors reveals more of the soapy weird sweet taste I was getting before. So i’m thinking it was better strong because the soapiness couldn’t come out through the overbearing jasmine thickness.
Geeez… Again the warmth of the tea can cover up some of it’s flaws so should you ever NEED to drink this (I think I know what my personal hell would be) drink it hot.
At least hell is hot… that will spare me the cold down after taste ickiness.

When I first tasted this tea, it left a rather unpleasant chemical-like taste in my mouth. I thought, maybe that was just a bad bag. So I tried another one… and I got the same result.

Thankfully, this is actually the third blend of jasmine tea that I’ve tried. The first time I tried it was at Teavana, and the second one I got from an Asian market. I can’t remember the brand name off the top of my head, though.

Regardless, both of those blends were enjoyable… and this one was not. So if this was your first time trying jasmine green tea, ditch this brand and try another one.
