This reminds me of haribo strawberry sweets, but not in a very good way. It has a much stronger scent than it has flavour, and what it does have in flavour is artificial. I am not at all impressed, very average teabag.

Surprised myself with this one, I’m more of a traditional tea guy. Dark, smoky, even bitter.

I purchased this as part of a sampler box to expand my horizons. It was very economical, and I was already ordering some nice loose leaf.

The aroma is strawberry hard candy or lollipop, all the way. This steeps while releasing the flavor and introducing you to the blend with aromatic flair.

What I was worried about with this flooding of smell, is that the black tea would be washed out. After all, this is a black tea with strawberry, not the other way around.

What you end up with is a lovely afternoon black tea with strawberry nose, some berry juice notes in the body, and a malty black tea finish with just a kiss of strawberry skin added in.

I feel it is well balanced and very good considering how inexpensive it was. My recommendation is to add fresh strawberries to the pot while infusing, if you have the luxury to do so.

Looking forward to trying this tea iced with strawberries and a touch of sugar.

Ahmad Tea teas sometimes are pretty good. At least for tea bags and price range :)

Barsomn

Certainly Martin! It’s not the most special blend I’ve ever had but better than I thought it would be.

I don’t usually start a tasting note with “I’m disappointed,” but I am. I had high expectations for this. First cup I had at work and it tasted like Dawn dish soap, but I blamed that on poor break room dishwashing. Tried it again from home, and the first few sips were OK. Black tea first, then the strawberry. But as it cools, it’s bitter and there’s the dish soap again. Ah, well. Just part of a sampler, so I don’t have to feel guilty about disliking an entire box.

Can’t drink an Ahmad tea without thinking about our good friend K S … wish I could say things as kind about this tea as I would about him!

Sil

doh. dishsoap tea not so good.

Sil

also, seems weird ks isn’t around anymore…agree with the Ahmad tea comment heh

Tabby

That’s surprising! Everything I’ve tried by Ahmad has been good. :/

mrmopar

KS I miss him.

I miss KS. I bought a box of Ahmad Earl Grey in memory of him, just to try it since he loved it so much.

Day 1 of my homemade advent calendar: strawberry teas

A bit sweet, some nice black tea flavour (malty but brisk), fairly realistic strawberry flavour (although, it tastes nothing like the high quality flavours you get from freeze-dried strawberries or even dried strawberries).

This tea is a delightful blend of strawberry and has a beautiful aroma that is very distinctly fruity and sweet. This is yummy. I really love fruity teas and perfumes – and this is another one that I’m very drawn to.

This is one of those teas that I drink only once in awhile, because I find that the strawberry flavor is a bit too isolated – and pretty strong. I prefer blended teas with a mixture that arrives with a beautiful blend of ingredients like a beautiful chord played on the piano or with a symphony. I don’t like perfumes or teas where there appears to have one note played more sharply than the rest. This tea has a very blended, well balanced type taste. It steeps into a very deep, rich, red color.

I wasn’t sure how much I would enjoy this tea, but it has a really nice strawberry candy flavor. It’s not my favorite strawberry black tea, and it isn’t much like the fruit, but it’s something I think I would like from time to time. Much better than my last cup, which apparently was awful.

This tea justifies its claims. You can taste these sweetness of the strawberry flavour. I drink 3 – 4 cups with just one tea bag.
