We’ve captured the essence of this outdoor treat by blending black tea and chocolate with mini marshmallows for a hint of sweetness. Complete with a hint of smokiness from Lapsang Souchong to round out the entire delicious experience.

The hubs is gone for the eve and the kiddos would rather play games then hang with me, so its a tea party this eve for me.

Trying to get caught up with this Adagio Advent Calendar. . . .I wanted to really like this one. There used to be a Campfire Custom Blend from Adagio that I loved back in the day but this one, there just is something a bit off and possibly artificial flavored. I get lots and lots of smoke with a hint of an off chocolate note. The flavors just are not mixing like I would have enjoyed. I’ve heard a lot about this one so I’m glad I was able to try it but not one I would need to have again or anything.

On to the next tea!

Adagio Advent Calendar – Day 12

S’mores-flavored things always sound so good to me in theory, but never quite pan out. I think I’ve had one s’mores ice cream that was good, and everything else has been meh. So I’m not optimistic, but here we are! This has lapsang in it, which should be interesting at least.

I do get a bit of smoke from the lapsang, but it’s pleasant and not overwhelming. I get a little bit of marshmallow as well. Unfortunately, the chocolate flavor is ruining this for me with its artificial waxy taste.

Boo, chocolate flavoring, boo! :(

Soooo I make my own s’mores ice cream if you want to try making your own! I mix two cups whole cream until they have stuff peaks, then stir in a can of sweetened condensed milk, a big jar of marshmallow fluff, a little vanilla, and 1.5-2 packages of crushed graham crackers. Basically taste it and add more stuff as needed. Freeze for eight hours, then serve with brownies. I actually turned mine into a baked alaska last time, which was great. I love making no churn ice cream (:

Overall, a solid black tea with a nice smokiness, a bit of sweetness, and a subtle cacao flavor.
