Iced, smidgen of agave.
I’ve started playing this ‘game’ over our lunch break at work with a few coworkers on a regular basis, as well as anyone else who’s interested. Basically, I’ve been taking a flavored tea from my personal stash and brewing up a mug of it over lunch and then “challenging” coworkers looking to build up their ability/skill at identifying flavour notes in teas to guess the key ingredients in the blend as well as what the tea is “supposed” to taste like.
This was definitely one of the hardest ones that we’ve ever done over lunch as cilantro is far from being a common tea ingredient – but a few coworkers were able to pinpoint that there was something herbaceous going on in terms of flavour, and one described the taste as somewhat soapy. Then, when she found out what the flavour was meant to be, did tell us that she’s in the group of people who find cilantro VERY soapy/foul tasting. A few people got the citrus in the blend though, everyone correctly guess the base tea, and one person also nailed the lemongrass.
Also, for what it’s worth, everyone enjoyed the tea except for the one coworker who just hates cilantro outright. I also deeply enjoy this tea, and was really excited to get to share it with this group of people and have them also be really receptive to the flavour.
