Tea of the Week for November 4, 2019!

Oh wow, this one is so good!

Everything is just – spot on! The ginger is strong & it lends a good amount of spice to the cup without being TOO ginger-y. The apricot is sweet & delicious. A really nice, smooth, creamy, vanilla-y custard flavor. Just a hint of nutmeg but it’s there. It’s a beautiful flavor that glides over the palate.

I really don’t know how else to say it but – YUM! You should really try this one!

Soft, buttery Chinese Sencha blended with freeze-dried apricot bits, ginger root & freshly shaved nutmeg & a touch of essence for that decadent custard note – this one is organic, VEGAN, gluten-free & allergen free . . . & as I’ve already mentioned before, it’s oh-so-good!

organic ingredients: green tea, freeze-dried apricots, ginger root, nutmeg & natural flavors

As mentioned in my Washington Apple review, I couldn’t honestly tell them apart. One I liked, which I think was this one, and one I found very mild. It’s possible that we should still blame muted senses from recovering from a cold.

Got this one from a mystery bag. The first time I had it, I mostly tasted the green tea, which was a bit harsher and grassier than I prefer, but kind of tasty in its own way. I could also taste some light pleasant fruitiness. In some sips, there was a bit of spice, but it’s not very obvious. The second time I tried this tea, I paid more attention to my steeping parameters, and found it to be rather gentle and creamy. I’m glad I gave it another chance and didn’t just pass it along. It really is like apricots and cream. This one is super well executed.

This is like drinking peach cobbler ala mode. It’s wonderful. Sadly it’s pretty close to a one steep tea. The second steep is very weak, even with upping the time.

The flavors play nicely against the green base, and you get notes of spice, apricot/peach, and cream. Very tasty.

I just wish it wasn’t one and done.

Lovely sencha with a perfect balance of apricot and spices. I always appreciate a good high quality cup of sencha. Creamy, vegetal, slightly buttery feeling. The little freeze-dried apricot bits give this an authentic apricot taste. The ginger notes are subtle, not overbearing, not artificial. Nothing in this cup comes off artificial. A perfect balance of nutmeg, spices to make it a warm cup. I adore this one. Highly recommended especially if you love apricots.

Just got this in my 52Teas subscription, and had to brew it immediately, as I knew I was going to love the blend of favors. It definitely lives up to my expectations. The apricot is perfectly balanced with the light spice, and creamy custard flavor. It tastes like a spiced apricot custard tart, and I am so, so enjoying this cup. The nutmeg compliments the apricot flavor so well, and I’m happy to see that the apricot actually tastes like apricot.

Mine is on the way. Yay. :) I love getting a lot of their little packets. Perfect size to determine whether I like them or not.
