From 52teas

Inspired by the idea of lemon-pepper seasoning, I decided to create this Zesty Lemon blend. It’s a delicious, robust blend of black teas together with lemon & spices that’s sure to charm your tastebuds!

Bonus Tea for June 2024!

This is a delicious blend of black teas (Assam & Yunnan) combined with dried lemon pieces, ginger root, black pepper & cinnamon. The flavor is bright & zesty, yet delightfully smooth & rich! It’s a tea that would work nicely as a morning pick-me-up when served hot or as a refreshing yet pleasantly spiced iced tea when served cold. It cold-brews wonderfully!

It’s also organic, vegan, gluten-free & allergen-free!

organic ingredients: black teas, lemons, crushed black peppercorns, ginger, cinnamon & natural flavors

to brew: shake the pouch well – I crushed the black peppercorns, so you’ll want to be sure to get some of that peppery goodness in your measurement. Use 3g of the tea to 12oz of nearly boiling water (205°F) & steep for 3 ½ minutes. strain & allow to cool for at least 10 minutes. Enjoy!

serving suggestions: because this blend is a bit chai-like, I tend to prefer it served hot, but it does make a refreshing iced tea! If you want to go latte, it makes a lovely latte! You can’t go wrong with this tea!

Sipdown

Another gift tea from the daughter who lives with us!

I had this a while back as a hot tea. I agree that it is very chai-like. I had expected just black tea with lemon from the name initially but there is a lot more going on.

Today I am having it as a sweet iced tea, steeped hot and allowed to chill in the refrigerator. Made this way, I am finding the ginger much more prevalent and the lemon less noticeable. It is smooth and lightly peppery – I have had three glasses just with lunch so it must be pretty good!

I do have a 12 ounce serving that I am cold steeping to drink unsweetened but it hasn’t been in long enough yet. Will report back on that one!

Edited to add: just drank the cold steep. Tastes much the same, but I feel like I get a vanilla note that I didn’t notice before and I don’t see vanilla listed as an ingredient. Maybe it is just a sweetness of the tea base itself. I added no sugar to the cold steep.

This is an interesting take on a lemon tea! It really does taste different from others I’ve had. The lemon is fresh, but not sour. The base is high quality, as always. It’s a nice combination, though a more standard flavor profile than I usually gravitate toward. I never realized it had black pepper and other spices!

Try cold-brewing this one – it’s spectacular as an iced tea!

I cold-brewed this overnight last night for iced tea today because I knew it would be very hot today. I’m so glad I did because this is so good iced!

The lemon is bright & refreshing, with an invigorating bite from the ginger & a vibrant kiss of black pepper & cinnamon. The black tea base is smooth & flavorful. The overall cup is not overly spicy/peppery, but there’s enough kick to it that the taste buds are doing the happy dance. I did add some sweetener to it to enhance the overall presence of the spices & I like the way it brings out the flavor of the spices without making it taste too sweet.

This is a blend I had contemplated for a while now, I’m glad I finally decided to just make it!
