Thanks Daisy Chubb!!!!
Before reading all of the crazy reviews and tasting notes on this I already knew this would be an interesting cuppa as my thoughts upon first sniff was OUT HOUSE…yes…an OUT HOUSE type aroma! WTF!?
I then looked up this tea and noticed I was NOT the only one with that experience! LOL
The taste is very different from the aroma – THANK THE TEA GODS FOR THAT!
I can taste a sweet wood, burdock root, apples, orange, spice, and figs! I like the addition of the fig. It could have probably done with out the burdock root. The cinnamon is barely there and I am ok with this. This is a conflicting group of flavors and the aroma is awful to be blunt. Considering my height of dislike for the aroma the taste isn’t awful…thanks to the fig and orange. I can’ bring myself to give it a high rating as it isn’t that good but it’s not UNdrinkable either…as long as you plug your nose!
ehhhhh.

Much as I love DT, I find they are putting WAY TOO MUCH STUFF in their teas lately – The Winter Collection being a prime example. I actually refused to taste any of them, largely based on smell.
LOL – at least they are ballsy to try! hahaha – even tho I don’t like certainly combos I am overjoyed someone attempted it! :)
It is a good thing you are among fellow tea drinkers. We understand. The rest of the world would want to know why you went ahead and tasted something that smelled of outhouse.
It’s funny, I gave some of this to a non-tea-drinking friend and she loved it. So I’m just going to go with it and not tell her what the popular opinion is haha
I am a french speaker, and I did not know what outthouse meant, so I look it up on google, and I saw the picture of a outhouse! Haha! That’s funny! I think it doesn’t smell good, but I don’t think it stinks! I work at David’s tea, so I tried it for free, and I really liked it! It’s a strange tea, like I like them, and I find the aromas really comforting. When it’s cold outside, that’s what I like to drink. It’s like an old lady tea I think. (Clients who like it were the old ladies ^^)
sounds kind of ewwww….

They are definitely bold with their combos lately!
