61 Tasting Notes

I finally broke down and gave it a whirl. Had a strong roasted quality which I haven’t tasted since I tried Adagio’s English Breakfast. It’s quite a contrast to DFT’s more floral Nepal. Not bad, but I don’t think it’ll be my favorite just yet. Might take a few more cups before I decide on it.

Usually my attempts to brew this have ended bitterly, so I tend to favor that Leo Zodiac blend for my decaf fix. This time I decided to try it with a 3 minute steep as opposed to the 5, and it seems to have done the trick. No bitterness whatsoever.

Loving this stuff. Thinking about checking out A & D’s series 2, but I still haven’t finished this or the Dragonwell, and I haven’t even touched the Ceylon yet. Don’t want to risk tea overload I guess, heh.

Got a couple cups out of this. I find myself more and more surprised by how long this 2oz. tin is lasting.

Favorite as always. I usually steep for 6 minutes, but today I steeped for 4 with good results.

Had two cups of this tonight. Actually, these cups were the best cups of Earl Grey I’ve made. The first cup I steeped for about 4 minutes and then the second for a full 5. I still got a bit of the dry taste to it, but no bitter taste, which is something I wrestle with often when it comes to Earl. Good times all around.
