May 2022 → An herbal tea
I’m switching to no caffeine for the night, so I thought I’d have a feel good/good for me tea. I’m not sure I’ve had this one before, but I was expecting it to be much darker than it is because of the dandelion. It’s very light in color and somewhat light in flavor, though what flavor there is reminds me of dirt. I added some honey and the juice of half a lemon. The honey didn’t do much aside from making it taste like sweet dirt, but the lemon helped exponentially. Probably because it basically overwhelmed all the other flavors.
Reviews on Amazon suggest this blend has helped a lot of people feel better, so I can tolerate the flavor if it helps on sluggish days. I’m guessing multiple cups are needed to see any sort of positive result though, and I’m not sure I want to be drinking this daily.

I laughed so hard! I have never had dandelion tea. I like shu puerh so maybe I would like it, dirt flavor and all.
My last note said that I oversteeped, so I cut the time a bit. The resulting cup was delicious. It turned out much better than I remember/thought it would be. I’m not normally a fan of lavender, but it really works here. I’ve had other EGs with lavender that I didn’t like, so I’m not sure what the difference is. I can taste it, it’s noticeably there, but it’s not soapy or overwhelming. This blend has definitely withstood the test of time.
Flavors: Bergamot, Lavender
Preparation
I’ve had some Strawberry Fields Forever by Arthur Dove Tea Co. cold brew in my fridge for a while now and finally got around to having a glass today. I added a bit of vanilla sugar syrup and topped with some good ol’ Coca-Cola. It’s sort of like an herbaceous cherry coke. It’s different but I like it!
Flavors: Herbaceous, Red Fruits
Preparation
This has never been a favorite, but it’s not one I loathe either. It steeps up darker than most white teas I’ve tried, so I do like that. Today’s cup was alright but it was sort of sour and bitter. The floral notes came through, even with the bitterness, and made the cup interesting. Not interesting enough to purchase again though. This one’s a sipdown.

May 2022 → A tea flavored like a favorite baked good
I remember liking this bagged Yogi tea (one of few Yogi teas I enjoy), but today’s cup tastes very watered down. Not tasting much more than a little bit of apple really.

May 2022 → A cupboard staple
This is pure vanilla bean flavor. Not extract or flavoring, but straight vanilla bean. I can see the flecks of tiny vanilla seeds floating around inside my cup. It’s delicious. I hoard this one because it’s one of my all-time favorites, though I’m not sure why. I do believe it’s still available through Peet’s Coffee.

May 2022 → A lemon tea
I think I’m coming to the realization that I’m just not a fan of lavender in teas. I did, however, finally get some flavor from a white tea by using boiling water instead of cooler water. Maybe this will help me get through the rest of my stash.

May 2022 → A strawberry tea
Looking back at past notes, it seems I didn’t have much luck with this one using only one teaspoon of tea. I doubled it up this time and finished off the last of my pouch. It’s much more flavorful this time. I do notice the berries, mostly blueberry I think, but no mango. To be fair, I probably haven’t eaten enough mango in my lifetime to be able to pick it out in a mix. It does have a unique flavor, just not tasting it here.

April 2022 → A raisin-y tea
1 sachet Chocolate Tea (Harney & Sons) + 1 sachet The Earl of Harlem (Ambessa by Harney & Sons)
I had initially planned to have the H&S chocolate tea on its own this morning, but after a quick Steepster search I saw that it seems to do very well blended with other teas. It’s not one I’ve liked on its own, and honestly neither is the Earl of Harlem blend. So here we are mixing them together. A smoky, chocolate Earl Grey. It does sound really good in theory.
The chocolate is definitely the most prominent note, which I find interesting since the chocolate tea on its own is never very chocolatey to me. There’s a hit of bergamot. No smoke (which is my issue with the Earl of Harlem blend on its own). I think I do prefer them mixed together over each on their own. Might have found a way to finish these finally.
