This isn’t my favorite from Satori Teas, but that isn’t saying much. I think I’ve loved every tea I’ve tried from there. This one’s probably lighter in flavor than some of the others but still floral and fruity – peach maybe?

This is definitely not a favorite, but it’s been next on my list of herbals for a while now. Decided today I might as well go ahead and drink it. It’s pretty much what I remember. There is mostly ginger with some sweet lemon in the background. There isn’t enough of either to make it something I would want to drink even as a sick tea.

This is a unique blend with vanilla bean, jasmine, carob, and shatavari root. I think it must be the shatavari root that is giving it that earthy flavor. It reminds me of ashwagandha. I don’t taste the carob or jasmine. I wonder what it would add to the overall flavor if it were stronger. As it is, it tastes like an earthy breakfast blend. The base tea is bold which I appreciate.

Craving this one again. It’s quickly becoming a favorite. Just wanted a cup of that sweet cinnamon candy before bed tonight.

I never can seem to remember if I like this one, but it turns out that I do. It’s very comforting this morning. Or I guess it’s afternoon now. I’m struggling to stay awake for some reason, even though I slept pretty well last night. The last couple of days have been thrown off by some unplanned plans, so I’m tired but feel a bit on edge. Hoping to rest some maybe tomorrow.

I think I have some of this stashed in a little chest of random tea bags. Your endorsement encourages me to finish it out! Hope all is well by the time you read this.

Eh, this one’s mediocre honestly. I remember I bought this as a replacement for a much-loved bagged chai, but it misses its mark. It has the chai spices and seems evenly spices, but there’s just nothing fantastic about it.

September 2022 → A chocolate tea

The first/last/only time I’ve had this tea, I used lots of tea to try coaxing out the chocolate flavor and ended up with a cup full of liquid cinnamon. I decided this time around to steep it like I would any other black tea, and it’s much much better. It’s still heavy on the cinnamon with no chocolate to be found, but I’m actually enjoying the cup this time.

Sometimes I really do miss Teavana, even if it’s only because it’s where I first started loving tea.

September 2022 → A breakfast tea

My cat got this one, but not before I had a chance to taste a few sips. It’s a solid breakfast tea, maybe just a little weaker than I would like, but I’m not devastated that it’s been stolen. I have one more bag of this one, but I don’t see myself purchasing more. Actually, I didn’t even purchased these. They were samples from a few H & S orders.

I don’t care this one. I don’t like super strong breakfast tea usually, but this one was nondescript to me.

Shae

That’s a really good way to describe it, I agree 100%. I’ll drink my last bag of it, but I don’t consider it to be anything special or memorable.

Haha, yes! Maybe I should have thanked her, lol.

Bio

Lifetime student. Lover of books and paper and ink. Kitchen dweller. Aspiring herbalist, excessively proud cat lady, and tea fanatic. Thirty-something elder millennial. She/her.

I love flavored black teas most of all, always with cream and honey. I enjoy floral and fruity teas, as well as flavored or scented ones. I’m not overly fond of green or white teas, but I’ve found a few that I enjoy.

I’m open to tea swaps and/or just sharing what’s in my tea cabinet! Please reach out if you see something I have that you’d like to try. I do my best to update my cupboard regularly.

Favorites
Any and all black teas, smoky teas, raspberry, strawberry, red fruits, bergamot, chai spices, floral teas, caramel/toffee, jasmine, rose, vanilla, peaches, plums, valerian root, cinnamon, cardamom

Not a huge fan
White teas, green teas, artificial sweeteners, sarsaparilla, licorice, lemongrass, lavender, hot hibiscus, hibiscus in black tea blends

Rating Scale

1-20: By far, one of the worst teas I’ve tasted. I most certainly will not finish my cup and will likely “gift” the rest to my sweet husband, James, who almost always enjoys the teas I dislike (and vice versa).

21-49: This tea is not good, but if I mix it with another tea or find another steeping method I might be able to finish it.

50-69: This one is just okay. I might drink it again if someone were to give it to me, but I probably won’t be buying more for myself.

70-79: This is a consistently good tea. It’s reliable but not necessarily special.

80-90: This one is a notch above the rest and I would gladly enjoy a cup of it any day of the week. I’ll likely be keeping this in my cupboard, but it isn’t one of my all-time favorites.

91-95: One small change and this tea would be perfect. I’ll definitely have a stash of this in my kitchen if you come over for tea.

96-100: No words can describe this tea. It’s an experience, an aha moment. Closed eyes, wide smile, encompassing warmth. Absolutely incredible. Perfect.
