Ugh, I know. It’s really unfortunate, because they do have some pretty great teas – but everything is marketed for their supposedly amazing health effects.
I’ve heard that too (among other things) about Teavana. I wonder how much of it (if any) is backed up by peer-reviewed scientific research? -And what ever happened to enjoying tea just for its own sake?
You know, the names of these teas make Teavana sound like one of those cheap, snake-oil diet plans.

Some information I got from Rishi says Pu Erh helps metabolize fatty acids and oily foods, may reduce cholesterol and blood sugar levels, and is cleansing and detoxifying to the blood stream. Unlike a lot of health benefits that are true of all true teas, these seem to be pu erh specific.
