New teas!
This is probably the “big one” from the collection – and it’s kind of been available for a while? I mean, in the sense that we were giving away free samples in store. Now it’s officially launched though, and if you enjoyed the sample (or didn’t have a chance to stop in store and get one) you can pick up larger amounts of it!
This is definitely one of those teas that’s meant to be very visually appealing and draw you in that way – it has bright fruit pieces and really cute flamingo sprinkles. I’m not overly fond of sprinkles in my tea, but I get that there’s definitely a HUGE amount of people who go nuts over them and this was admittedly a very cute choice.
Flavour wise, the blend is sweet, fruity and quite tart. The main flavour is, in my opinion, absolutely the hibiscus – but you also get a strong sense of tropical fruit flavour like the passionfruit and pineapple, and a good amount of strawberry. I think the strawberry is very nice, and it’s the main flavour here balancing out the tartness of everything else. You certainly cannot taste the white tea base – and I guess that could be a pro or a con depending on your own preferences for white tea. For me it’s a bit closer to being a con. I’ve tried this blend several ways now, and my favourite was iced with lemonade – but I did like it straight iced too. Wasn’t super big on it hot; it was just too tart.
Not my jam (I wish we’re brought back Passion Punch, personally) but this is fun and lively – quite a flavourful tea and one that I think will really appeal to a lot of people. It very much captures the essence and spirit of summer.
Friendly reminder that I do not numerically rate DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m currently employed there and it would be an obvious conflict of interest. Any blends you see with numerical ratings were rated prior to my employment there. These reviews are a reflection of my personal thoughts regarding the teas, and not the company’s.
Yep, sampled this one today.
