So last night I fell in love…
Basically, I wanted a short break from Breaking Bad so I was looking for an anime I could watch a few episodes of in between Breaking Bad, preferably something new that maybe I could rotate between for a while. I settled on Princess Jellyfish because the little Netflix blurb sounded interesting enough and the name kind of drew me in. Plus there was cross dressing… And well, I have this thing.
Basically, I’m really attracted to slender/thin men who cross dress/do drag. My absolute favourite Drag Queen of all time is Alaska Thunderfuck, who was on Rupaul’s Drag Race. I think she is just absolutely drop dead fucking gorgeous in and out of drag. Almost literally takes my breath away…

Anyway, this anime Princess Jellyfish might just be the most beautiful anime I’ve ever watched and I instantly fell in love with in from episode one. I watched the entire eleven episode anime straight last night with three cups of green tea to keep my company and no interruptions and I bonded intensely with all the characters, which are essentially a ‘rag tag’ group of hard core Otakus and Kuranosuke who is a cross dressing son of a politician who helps these girls realize their beauty and who accepts them despite their weird tendencies and obsessive behaviors.
And we are all hard core Otakus about our tea and I just saw the passion we all have about tea kind of directly reflected in Tsukimi’s love of Jellyfish and it was beautiful and great. Plus, it’s sort of a love story too and it has some very intense ‘shippy’ moments that I know some of you on here would just eat up.
Long story short, I’m in love with this anime and heartbroken it’s only 11 episodes long, except THANK GOD the mango is still on going, because I need resolution and I need Tsukimi and Karunosuke to end up together and it needs to be beautiful and more jellyfish… Just AAAAHHH!!!
Also, I have the hugest anime crush on Karunosuke right now, and am blushing like a stupid idiot just thinking about his adorableness, which is ridiculous because he’s a fictional, animated character.
So yeah, maybe check the anime out? It’s short, so not really a time commitment – plus the theme song is beautiful and SO catchy.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and the tea was really great too, heh…

I love drag queens. My wife knows that if drag queen were ever to so much as wink at me, I’d be gone XD.
I love Drag in general (in highschool when I didn’t have to worry about looking professional for a job or anything, I wore very over the top drag-esque make up and accessories and such, and people joked that I took drag to a whole new level by participating despite being female), but I really have a thing for very slender, thin Queens like Alaska (or Sharon Needles, who she’s together with) and Karunosuke. A real life Karunosuke might be the death of me with his beautiful eyes and hair…
I’ll have to check it out when I have the time. My favourite anime is hands down Yakitate Japan. It’s pretty hard to beat, in my opinion!
I watch on Crunchyroll when Funimation and Netflix don’t fill my anime needs. Although it’s mostly subbed on Crunchyroll it’s totally worth it!

I sadly don’t have regular internet access, atm – so Netflix is my go to for the time being.
