Earlier this month was the first time I’d ever had chai. I bought a small box of concentrated decaf chai latte made by Tazo. I had nothing to compare it to, but it was wonderful. When buying this box of chai tea, I thought I’d have a similar experience, especially considering that most Twinings teas are pretty good.

I tried not to expect much, because it is a decaffeinated tea after all, which can be pretty hit or miss, but despite this, I was still a little disappointed. Upon steeping, the smell was that of an overpowering artificial cinnamon. It reminded me a lot of Red Hots candy. To prepare it, I added 2 teaspoons of sugar and a dash of milk.

The taste with my additions was still much like Red Hots. There was also an artificial sweetness in the background as well. I couldn’t really taste the tea or any other flavors, save for a hint of cloves. I wasn’t so bothered that I couldn’t finish my cup, but I don’t think I will be buying this again once I’ve finished the box. I’m sure there are better decaf chai teas out there. Sadly, this one wasn’t as wonderful as I had hoped it’d be.

When I bought this tea, I didn’t really know what to expect, as I’ve never had yerba maté before. I was very surprised and happy at how wonderful this tea tasted though.

The smell as it’s steeping is a very mild but sweet. You automatically pick up a slight chocolate smell from the cocoa peels and a subtle mint underneath. The mint becomes much more apparent when you taste it though, and the cocoa becomes the more subtle ingredient. The mint leaves a burst of coolness on your tongue without being overpowering or bitter. The sweetness isn’t as apparent in taste as it is when it’s steeping.

I’m not sure how this yerba maté blend would compare to better quality yerba maté, but this is still a good tea and worth trying if you pass it in the store.

With the colder weather coming, I’ve been in the mood for a mint tea. After trying Stash’s peppermint and feeling somewhat disappointed with the mildness of it, I decided to give this one a try. I’m a fan of Celestial Seasonings, so what could it hurt to try, right?

Upon opening the box, I was hit with the most wonderfully crisp, minty scent. I could barely wait to drink it! The taste of the tea was just as minty and cooling as it smelled. It was comforting and perfect for winter. As I sipped it, and even now, I can’t think of a bad thing to say about this tea. It’s really great, despite being a bagged grocery store tea.

If you’re looking for a strong, refreshing peppermint tea, definitely give this one a try! You won’t be disappointed.

Finally! A cinnamon apple tea that doesn’t taste like chemicals! While it does taste a lot like cinnamon apple, the flavor is very light and nothing is overpowering about it, as you might find with some cinnamon teas. The aroma has a pleasant cinnamon-sweet smell. If you’re tired of cinnamon teas that taste artificial, I’d definitely recommend you give this one a try.

Being a huge fan of anything peach-flavored, I knew I had to try this as soon as I saw it in the store. I was a little worried though, as many peach-flavored teas tend to taste too artifical or overly floral.

As I unpackaged it and began to steep it, I noticed a very prominent peach smell. The color was a beautiful pink-orange that I couldn’t get enough of. At this point, I forgot all about my hesitation and was eager to try it. Unfortunately, my excitement was short-lived. I didn’t care for this tea hot at all. It was what I feared: artificial and overly floral.

Luckily, it tastes much better as an iced tea. The flavors become much more subtle and the peach flavor is able to properly shine through. This would be perfect on a hot summer day if you’re in the mood for something light and fruity.

With the rising spring temperatures, I’ve been in the mood for something other than my usual hot black tea. I spotted this at the store, and knowing that Tazo makes some amazing tea, decided on this one.

As it was steeping, I picked up on a fruity scent with a hint of cinnamon. The color is a gorgeous red like pomegranate or cranberry juice. As my cup cooled down, the cinnamon scent lifted a little and was replaced with a slight tartness. The hibiscus is very prominent in flavor but is balanced well with the tartness. It’s not too tart or fruity though. Everything blends together nicely.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a light tea for this spring and summer. This also seems like it’d be a good replacement for those wanting to cut back on fruit juices that are full of sugar and calories.

Alongside another Yogi tea, I received this tea as a sample from the company. I didn’t really know what to expect, as I’ve never had a tea with lavender in it before, and honestly, I almost expected to hate it. I assumed it would taste too artificial and overpowering.

How very wrong my expectations were though! The tea, once brewed, had a very delicate smell. The honey and lavender were apparent, without being overwhelming, in terms of smell and flavor. There was a hint of mint and a slightly sweet and fruity taste as well.

I felt that it lived up to its name as well as being a good tea for stress relief. I felt much more relaxed and calm after drinking this. Overall, I did not expect much from this tea, but after trying it, this is definitely something I’d keep regularly stocked at home.

I received a sample of this from Yogi Tea and waited eagerly for it to arrive. Being a fan of caramel teas, I had high hopes for this tea. I wasted no time making a cup as soon as it arrived.

Though I wouldn’t say it’s horrible, I’m slightly disappointed, as I didn’t detect any caramel at all. Instead, what I tasted the most was chamomile and nutmeg and the usual “herbal” flavor that all Yogi teas seem to have. Regardles, I finished my cup and would probably buy a box of this tea to keep around, because, even though it didn’t taste as I expected, it was still a very relaxing tea to have before bedtime.

It’s hard to find my favorite black decaf, PG Tips, where I live and was excited to see a possible alternative at my local grocery store. Despite reading that the decaf British Blend was better, I decided to give this a try.

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with this tea. I had to steep a single cup for about 10 minutes just to get some flavor. As per my usual cup, I added a dash of milk and no sugar, but this didn’t help much. Overall, it was just bland, bland, bland.

I may buy this if I’m completely desperate, but I’d much rather wait until my PG Tips Decaf becomes more widely available.

I haven’t sampled many Tazo teas, but when I passed this one in the store, I just had to try it. I’m so glad I did, too!

The flavor and aroma is light and fruity. The apricot tastes natural and fresh and blends in well with the vanilla. This tea has a lot of depth, and I can’t imagine myself getting bored with it. It just tastes so wonderful!
