22 Tasting Notes
Ohh, another tin from my Adagio sampler that I am very happy with. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but when I opened the tin and smelled that wave of coconut and spiciness, I started to get excited. I only used about a scoop and a half of tea instead of the recommended two. When I poured the water over the tea, the coconut aroma intensified, but I was a little disappointed when I first tasted it, because there wasn’t much of a coconut taste. Then I added a little milk and sugar, and… alchemy! There’s the coconut, surrounded by the spices, with that little hint of lemongrass. This tea is absolutely perfect for this morning, a just-about-cold morning that’s going to lead into a beautiful early spring day. I’m very pleased with this tea.
Preparation
I tried this one for the first time this morning. From the reviews I’d read, I’d expected something a little bit different, but I was quite pleased with what I ended up getting. The main thing that surprised me about this tea was how much of a honey smell it had. While it was steeping, the fragrance was really sweet. It didn’t have as much of a honey taste, just smooth and easy to drink. I will definitely have this one again soon!
This tea really had a bit of a medicine-y taste to it. I see some comments about astringency and smokiness, which I guess is what I was tasting. I wasn’t particularly fond of that. I’m not sure if different amounts of tea and different steeping times will affect that.
Preparation
This is my second tea from my Adagio order, and the first black tea I’ve made that wasn’t my usual Lowes-Foods-brand-orange-and-black-pekoe bags. This tea is amazing. I don’t know how it compares to other “real” teas, but compared to what I usually drink in the mornings, this is rich, full, smooth… There’s an actual flavor to it, which is fantastic. And for the first time, I’m trying this “second steep” I keep reading about. I just poured the water over the leaves, so I’ll be trying that any minute. Yay for this!
Preparation
I just made a cup of this… it’s my first tea from my first Adagio order ever. I’m so excited, I can barely sit still. I have twelve little boxes of tea that all smell amazing. Making a decision about what to drink first was hard, but I made a good choice with this one.
It’s not super-strong. I think I might use a little more tea next time. This is pretty mild, but the apple and spice flavors are solid. I added milk and sugar, and I literally cannot put my cup down. I’m trying to sip it, but the tea is disappearing from my cup a little more quickly than I’d like. Guess I’ll just have to make another cup! :)
Preparation
Not my favorite. The maple was really strong, a little overwhelming. I think I let it steep too long… maybe I’ll go shorter next time and see if that helps. It smells AMAZING, but the taste isn’t quite what I was hoping for.
