Ew, yuck.

Seriously, I am getting spoiled by loose leaf teas now, so tea bags are just not doing it for me anymore.

I grabbed a cup of this from the cafeteria at work because I was longing for some tea but I had left my tea press travel mug in the car (and I park 6 blocks away). Compared to Harney & Sons’ Earl Grey Supreme, this tea is bland and flavourless. I was getting just the tiniest bit of bergamot, just mostly bland black tea flavour.

Lesson learned: do not leave tea press in the car.

I got two samples of this tea when I placed my last Harney & Sons order, and decided to give it a whirl since I was craving tea but didn’t want to be kept awake by drinking black tea. Sadly, I’m not too impressed, but then again, I’m not much of an herbal tea person. The mint in this tea is very strong (perhaps too strong, the mint-infused steam is making my eyes water a bit) but it does have a nice tingly mint flavour that lingers after swallowing. There a few floral notes, but the flavour is mainly mint. However, this tea is pretty similar to the herbal mint tea bags you can buy from the grocery store, so I wouldn’t recommend the extra investment.

Overall, nice mint tea, but nothing spectacular.

This tea is a bit of an acquired taste. Being used to sweet, fruity teas, I was at first put off by the grassy/toasty flavor of this tea (I’m also fairly new to the tea world, so forgive me). I decided to give it a few more chances, and I’ve come to like it. Green tea is tricky to brew, though, so I’m still having trouble getting a tea that is not overbrewed or overly grassy. When I do manage to get it right, it’s a light tea with a distinct flavor of toasted rice that is lovely with two teaspoons of honey.

Wow. This cinnamon tea is very powerful. I borrowed (and by borrowed I mean stole) a few teaspoons of this from my roommate’s tin to give it a try, as I was curious.

If you like cinnamon, this tea is for you. It is potent, if not slightly overwhelming (to me, at least). I liked the flavor, but the amount of cinnamon caused and upset stomach later on. I blame not having a gallbladder, so other tea drinkers may not have the same experience.

This is hands-down the best Earl Grey I’ve ever had. In fact, I never realized how complex and flavorful Earl Grey could be until this tea.

The bergamot is very prominent and very citrus-y (and very lovely, I might add), and the tea has an almost creamy quality to it. Be forewarned, however, that this tea can become bitter very easily. I recommend brewing it for only 3-4 minutes.

Overall, extremely good and potent Earl Grey. I won’t be going back to normal Earl Grey teas after this one.

This tea is amazing. It has just the right touch of berry flavor, noticeable, but not cloying or overwhelming. The vanilla and caramel notes make for an already somewhat sweetened tea, so very little sugar or honey is required, if that’s how you take your tea. This is my favorite tea for my hour-long morning commute to work.

Oh. My. Goodness. This tea reminds me of the time I spent in Exeter, England around the holidays last year. The flavor, to me, is highly reminiscent of mince pies (in a good way!). The dried orange peel also adds a bit of a citrus-y note, and reminds me of the orange spice tea my brother and I used to drink before I got into fancier loose leaf teas.

Overall, lovely, warming tea for any time of the year.

I so desperately wanted to like this tea, as chocolate and coconut are two of my favourite flavors. However, the chocolate flavor in this tea comes off as a bit artificial, and the coconut is not very strong. When I prepared my first cup, it was extremely weak, even though I added two teaspoonfuls to a 12 oz cup. My second cup with 3 teaspoonfuls is much more flavorful, and in my opinion, a dash of milk adds the bit of creaminess necessary to something that is chocolate and coconut flavored.

Overall, this tea is not awful, but neither is it fantastic. It is pretty with the little flowers and smells heavenly in the tin, but it does not deliver when brewed.
