116 Tasting Notes
A flavorful tea; it isn’t overpowered by the matcha so its balanced well between the two teas. This tea steeps in 45-60 seconds and also uses less water; I am guessing if one were to use too much water or oversteep this tea, it probably wouldn’t taste this good.
Preparation
A good tea; upon opening the packaging, the fragrant smell of cherries reminds me of the fresh fruit. I like that this particular Lupicia tea doesn’t taste like Japanese gum like so many of the Lupicia blends. I wish it had a sharper taste but I think many will like that it has a smooth aftertaste of fresh cherries rather than a tart flavor.
Preparation
If you like the taste of Rooibos, you might like this one. It has a soft strawberry and vanilla flavor while still being able to taste the Rooibos. Sometimes Rooibos has a medicine-like flavor; in this particular case it was fairly strong. If you dislike the flavor of Rooibos but want drink it, I’d recommend trying Ronnefeldt’s Orange Cream Tea.
Preparation
Overall it is okay, but I personally don’t like it much. It might be good if you like the flavor of rooibos and want a little extra flavoring – the sakura adds a little lightness and floral scent to cut down on the woody, herbal taste of the rooibos.
Preparation
This is a little too mild in my opinion. I could steep this longer but Lupicia recommends 1.5-2 minutes and I already threw away the sachet. If I were to steep this longer I think it would have too much green flavor, like matcha powder flavor – some might like this though. The salty sakura flavor isn’t very pronounced.
Preparation
Not bad! I was a bit sceptical if the black soybeans would taste okay in genmai-cha. I don’t drink genmai that often but I do enjoy it on occasion. The roasted rice flavor is toned down so you can taste the black beans; a good blending of the two flavors. I steeped it for 2-3 minutes even though it should be like 30-60 seconds.
