Opened this one up tonight and hot brewed it. I don’t believe I’ve ever had a fruit infusion before. I was still expecting something more. Rooibos, Honeybush. Something! But this is nothing but fruit. With my lack of a sense of taste I fully expected to be drinking hot water. It brewed into such a pale color that I really expected it to be flavorless hot water.

But I was pleasantly surprised to find out I was wrong! The flavor is as delicate as the color, but it is definitely there. Sweet. Maybe artificial, but I can’t tell. I purchased this with the intention of drinking it iced this summer. I ‘ll try that too, but this is very nice for a relaxing evening cup. I believe I’ll pick up some more.

Afternoon is a good time for smooth, rich vanilla-y goodness, right? I could not sleep last night. Of course right now I could drop off any minute. So a good black tea with some caffeine is a must. This one is excellent.

All your notes about Tippy’s is making me so tea-antsy! Must wait another few weeks before tea-buying-ban is over, though. Gah!

Maddy Barone

I’ve really enjoyed all the teas I’ve gotten from Tippy’s. Great customer service too. When you lift your ban, I heartily recommend their Minted Monkey. And this one, the Not So Vanilla. Or if you want a straight black tea the Imperial Golden Monkey is yummy.

yummmmmmmmmm

The bonus of the teas made with their Golden Monkey tea is that they travel well in a Timolino or whatever stainless travel mug you might use. The flavor doesn’t go all flat like with most other teas.

I made a 2 cup pot of this tea this morning, and used 12 pearls. I suspect it was too much, as this tea wasn’t as smooth or as good as I remembered. Not that it was bad, at all. I have enough of my sample left to make another cup or two. I might hold off until after my sinus surgery. There’s a chance I’ll regain my sense of smell for a few months, and I really want to taste the apricot in this tea.

I had this one for breakfast! I was dead tired when I got up, and decided on a plain black tea to get me going. I had a some of my sample of this left so decided to finish it off. Very nice. Smooth, a bit malty, and delicious.

I cold brewed a jug of this last night before bed. I like it hot, but it really shines as an iced tea. Naturally sweet, mild, smooth, refreshing! Summer is coming! I can see drinking this al lsummer long.

ThainofBuckland

This tea is good. I tried it recently, and it does taste better cold.

So, I brewed up a two cup pot of this tea this morning. This is not one I will re-order, but it’s not as bad for me as for some others. I don’t have a sense of smell, so I really can’t tell you exactly what it tastes like, I only feel like it’s “off” somehow. And it’s a tiny bit bitter at the end of the sip. I drank most of the first cup and then waited for the second cup to go cold. it was better cold, but this is really not something I would choose to drink again. The skinny tin it came in is cute though, and fits in the cabinet where the larger tin wouldn’t.

I cold brewed this and I don’t believe I care for it iced. It’s not by any means bad, but I definitely like it better hot.

My morning cup. So good in the morning! Today is supposed to be in the mid 70s. UN-believable! The average hi for today is 36, so that is almost 40 degrees above the norm. Too warm for hot tea this afternoon, so I put some of this to cold brew. We’ll see how it is cold.

….we’re going to be in the 90s today…. it’s too much too soon….gaaaaaaah……

drank Cranberry Pear by DAVIDsTEA

I did it! I wrote THE END on the rough draft of the manuscript. 123,849 words long, which exceeds the publisher’s requirements by about 24,00 words. So clearly, I have a lot of revisions ahead of me. But I finished it! So I made a pot of Cranberry Pear to sit down with now. I am exhausted but unable to sleep. This tea is supposed to have low caffeine. It is as usual mild and sweet. This is certainly not the greatest tea in the world, but it remains a dependable favorite. It’s a “comfort tea”, like mashed potatoes and gravy are comfort food.

OMGsrsly

YAY!!! That is super awesome. :)

Ost

Awesome!! Woot! Woot!! high fives Not many people get to the end of things they are writing-so good job!! :D

Anlina

Yay! Congrats on finishing!

This is the 10th and last book in this series. I really love the world and the characters, but to be completely honest I am THRILLED to be done with it so I can move on to something else. Well, not actually done yet. I have my revisions to do, then edits. But close to done!

Maddy Barone

Crap! I meant to begin with a thank you! Seriously, thank you, everyone, for the well wishes!

donkeyteaarrrraugh

i just looked you up…are you the paranormal romance MB? There’s a lady at my work that reads that genre constantly, whilst I’ve never read a one…I’m just finishing The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay….are you a reader as well as a writer?

donkeyteaarrrraugh

(and I meant to say that you make this tea sound muse-like and delicious! I’m happy I live miles from a David’s or I’d be wandering in there asking for it!)

Maddy Barone

I don’t know what an MB is, but I love to read! I particularly enjoy sci fi and fantasy. Patricia Briggs just had a new book out that I devoured. I’ve been published with Liquid Silver Books since 2010, but I’m nobody famous. You could ask 100 readers if they’ve heard of me and not a one will have. But a few extra $$ a month helps buy tea, so it’s worth it.

Sil

donkey – yes that’s her lol www.MaddyBarone.com

Sil

you’re an MB, Maddy haha

Nicole

Congrats on finishing!

donkeyteaarrrraugh

I’ll look up Patricia Briggs… Recently read Blood Song by Anthony Ryan and devoured is a good word! Tea and books and cats….such a holy trilogy for me…

Such a lovely, delicate tea! I chose to brew this one up this morning. Usually I like a black tea for morning, but I went with this one and don’t regret it.

Bio

I love cats. I love alone time. I love sitting indoors on a cold winter night with a book or my knitting while drinking tea. I don’t have a sense of smell, so many of the more subtle flavors of tea escape me. Two of the things I CAN taste are bitter and sour, so any tea that has even a slightly bitter taste is nasty for me. And what others might perceive as pleasant tartness may be horribly sour for me.

I’m also a writer. I love writing, and a mug of hot tea helps me get through the hours sitting in front of the computer. Although I’m a comparatively new tea drinker, I’m jumping in feet first. Feel free to recommend any teas you think I might enjoy.

100-91 – Wowza! I want to keep this tea in the cupboard all the time.
75-90 – Very nice. It would be good to have this tea on hand from time to time.
60-74 – OK. Wouldn’t keep it in the cupboard, but I would drink it again.
45-59 – If a friend served this I would drink it to be polite, but it’s not really my cuppa.
Lower than 45 – Blech. It was too sour or bitter for my taste. Would not drink it again.
