I seem to be re-reviewing (deleting the old note, making a new note) a bunch of teas from steeped tea today.
Hot Yoga is a tea with pretty much just spices. For some reason 6 months ago I bought many “medicinal herbals” with spices, to only realize I only drink teas that are prominently spicy when I’m sick/nauseous.
I steeped 1 tsp of this tea in 8oz of boiled water for about 4 min. The result is indeed a mildly spicy tea(mind you I under leafed it because that is what I prefer). It’s pretty good, but like I said, I don’t really drink teas that are prominently just spices unless I’m sick. One thing that annoys me about this tea is that there are ground spices as well as whole spices so the ground spices go to the bottom, resulting in uneven amounts from scoop to scoop. My favorite prominently spicy tea is Super Ginger from DAVIDs, but other than that I think I actually prefer bagged tea (like Tetly) for teas that have spices because then the spices are evenly distributed.
With that being said, I don’t think I will repurchase this one cause I rarely drink it. Instead I think I will mix 1/2 – 1 tsp of this tea in certain pitchers of herbal teas I make to use it up.

I hear you. They are better quality than bagged tea but I do find them to be VERY overpriced for what they are offering. If you look down to my recent review of Zingy Ginger from them I kind of went on a little bit of a rant: $10/50grams (or I think $17/100grams) of a tea that’s entirely just spices.I don’t think I’ve ordered any teas from them that are less than $8/50 grams. Sure, you get a bit more bang for your buck if you order 100 grams, but it’s brutally expensive if you just want to try out teas.
So far the only teas I’ve found from them that I really like are Lemon Ginger Tea-Tox and Toffee Crunch. The rest have just been “meh”. Also, it really annoys me that they have NO unflavored green teas.
With that being said though, I did just order a bunch of fruit teas from them to make iced tea, so look out for my reviews. Depending on how much I like these ones I may not be ordering much from them anymore…
Actually, I was just looking at the Fall/Winter 2015 catalogue and they are bringing it back :)
But still, 1 straight green tea?
Yep, I understand :) I’m just saying that only having 1 straight green tea when you are supposed to be a “high quality loose leaf tea business” is ridiculous.
I don’t like this tea anymore :/
Yeah, I remember seeing your review. Doesn’t really suit my fancy, either :/
steeped tea sells expensive low quality teas IMHO :/
just be wary of telling them that
