Well I needed a little something warm and caffeine free since I’ve been drinking blacks all day. Its snowing outside and is perfect tea weather. Unfortunately I did not like this at all- not the smell nor the taste..way to sweet and just not right on my tongue I guess. I was surprised so I opened up my only other rooibos sample (thank God) and the result was…YUCK! This one was worse than the caramel! I guess this girl ain’t doing anymore of those rooibos teas!!! Oh well u can’t blame a girl for trying.

all of the flavored rooibos that I have tried have been gross. Do you like plain rooibos? I’d give it a try if you haven’t already. I’m a fan. I like plain rooibos with a little peppermint tossed in. Very refreshing. Rishi has the Peppermint Rooibos that rocks, but honestly you can buy plain rooibos and some plain peppermint, add them together and it’s exactly the same thing.
Yeah I have to agree with you, I’m not hot on rooibos teas either. Especially after the wonderful flavors of black tea.
Rooibos teas are really hit and miss with me. I did find a good one I like at the Granville Island Tea Company in Vancouver. It was chocolate mint but it had tons of real cocao nibs and peppermint leaves mixed in the rooibos. You could tell that the peppermint was fresh too just from the smell.

I keep trying rooibos teas and keep being disappointed. I wish I could like them.

Hrm. Rooibos and caramel aren’t two flavors that read to me as ones that would marry well together. Seems like it would come out as mealy tasting? Anyhow, tea disappointments make me sad, but if it weren’t for them the good stuff wouldn’t taste as good, right?
