61 Tasting Notes
I am usually not a fan of flavored teas with the exception of Earl Grey. However, Earthbound Tea’s Morroccan Mint is an amazing tea. The green tea is balanced nicely with the cooling taste and sensation of the mint. I finished the sample I received through Steepster Select in three days, and am ordering more from Earthbound. This has become my standard evening tea while watching TV or reading a book.
Preparation
I have been a fan of lapsang souchong for many years now. The first time I made Dr. Tea’s lapsang souchong, I was at my office working through some difficult code that was giving me trouble. The smoky aroma and flavor put me in the zone, and this tea has become my go to for tough days at the office. This tea presents a very strong smoky aroma, but the tea is not so smoky that it is overpowering.
Preparation
A very interesting tea that comes in a very interesting package. My first thought when smelling the aroma of this tea was buttery sweet corn. Elements of these flavors are present in the flavor of this tea. Beneath those flavors there is a cooling sensation on the tongue and some earthy notes. Overall its an interesting and pleasant tea.
Preparation
Its still a little warm in GA today, but this oolong is light and refreshing. This tea has a delicate floral smell. The flavor matches the aroma, but it has the other levels that you would expect from an oolong. Very enjoyable.
Preparation
This tea is amazing, but full of surprises. Before steeping I smelled this tea, and was surprised by the floral aroma. While steeping, the floral disappeared into a very dank earthy aroma. The tea has a similar earthy nature when you taste it. The earthiness gives way to a slight fruity and herbal flavor.
I am a fan, and can’t wait to see what re-steeping does to this tea.
Preparation
Like the other notes, this is the first tea I am trying from the August Steepster Select box. I haven’t had many Darjeeling teas, but I am enjoying this tea. There is a slight drying quality mixed with the floral taste that balance each other. At the end there is a slight earthy nature. Definitely a tea I will be making another cup of.
Preparation
I have trouble with my sinuses year round, and was a bit skeptical that this tea would even put a dent in them. However, I was surprised how effective it has been. The flavor of the tea is a little on the sweet side, but overall I find it pleasant.
I have found that if you are a little congested 1 bag for 10 minutes and drink while hot. However, if you are in a bad way try 2 bags in 1 cup of water for 10 minutes. Hope it works well for you.
Preparation
This tea engages you when you first open the tin. The mixture of the tea leaves and rose buds is visually enticing. The aroma as you steep this tea has the floral notes of rose water which is to be expected. However, that same rose flavor is a little over powering when drinking the tea. That is not to say it is unpleasant and if you like floral teas then this is definitely one to try. I haven’t given up on this one, but I believe it may be too floral for my tastes.
