I received this tea as a gift and despite my apprehensions about the beets, decided to give it a steep n taste. It was better than I expected. The beet flavour does come through, but not as much as I had feared.
The tartness is nice as well… for a change. Sweet but tangy.
Of course, I find that the “berry” teas tend to taste pretty much the same, the variety of fruits tend to make up a generic flavour with very little variation in range of undertones. Pity… as it smells absolutely amazing. I had hoped that the grapefruit would show up more in the taste but knew that it likely wouldn’t so wasn’t surprised at all when the beets took over everything.
One day I’ll find a tea that actually has the intense grapefruit taste I seek!
On the flip side, this tea would make a great iced drink. I would drink it more as a “juice” than a tea though, and again, you could give me any berry tea, iced or not, and it would taste very much the same but it’s just as good as any of the others. Except for those with mint in them. I <3 those!
