57 Tasting Notes
Got this tea in my “5 for 5” sampler pack.
I have to say it was delicious! The opening in dark chocolate – savory, a touch bitter, a touch sweet. I was also reminded in some ways of beef broth. There was also a toastiness, like roasted grains.
Flavors: Broth, Dark Chocolate, Fruity, Roasted Barley, Tea
Opened with a familiar grassy/earthy character. Soon developed some sweetness. Astringency was mild and pleasant. Tea flavor lasted after swallowing for a good little while.
Perhaps a bit of nuttiness and woody notes, too. An impression of fruitiness but I can’t identify it.
Flavors: Fruity, Sweet, Tea, Wood
Robust, with a silky feel in the mouth. The flavor is earthy, shading into a bit of nuttiness. I noticed a bit of cooling sensation on the back of my mouth, which was pleasant. After a few steeps it settles into an earthy, rich tea flavor, sort of like a black tea turned up to 11.
