Cupping set should arrive tomorrow

For those of you who have not done or used cupping sets before just a few things. Remember that this is cupping. We are keeping the same standard for each tea. That standard is located in the document sent. If I remember correctly it’s 3 mins, 195F, and 3g…. something like that. I apologize I realize I never got around to making pages here on Steepster for each but I know I did get some.

To make sure you are rid of all lingering flavors from tea or food before cupping, brush teeth and tongue well with plain water.

Mike Harney says a professional sticks their nose right in the leaves. It is important that one’s breath not add any musty notes to the leaves!

Use the thermometer! Really really warm your cupping set before you steep. The bowl is bigger than the cup and when cold it knocked almost thirty degrees off the water in a flash. I took the water up to boiling, poured in the pre-warmed cup and used an instant read thermometer to watch it drop rapidly to 195F, then poured that over the leaves.

Six down, four to go tomorrow. Hope to mail box Tuesday or Wednesday.

Completed my part, emailed results, box mailed to beerandbeancurd today.
