DROOOL
Having a nice strong cup of Coconut Grove. So coconutty with a delicious white tea base with a hint of rose. The tea tastes so snuggly for me this morning, if that makes sense.
I’m rating bumping this tea because I want to drink this all the time as it has become my favorite coconut tea so far!
Preparation
This tea is so addictive! I’m getting a little savory graham crust taste with this cup for some reason. The coconut and juicy sweet white bai mu dan is still present.
I need to do another SteepCity order soon, though I’m wondering if I should get some tea ware instead. Argg, need a bigger tea budget, lol!
Preparation
Mmm, this tea is solid! I’m thinking I’m going to do another SteepCity order soon! Very impressed with their teas!
I’ve been drinking this one for 2 days while watching korean dramas.
Coconut grove is very sweet and coconutty! The taste is like big fresh, slippery slabs of coconut over top juicy sweet fruity white tea. The white tea is very flavorful and sweet. The floral is light here.
Coconut Grove gives me the impression of something sophisticated classic, with a bit of romance – but with a bit of modern hip from the coconut flavoring. If you like coconut and sweeter teas, you’ll love this one!

First review again! Yes! Hahha :D
Backlog from last night!
I am always super afraid of turning my green teas bitter so I don’t let them steep for long, but NOW I’m starting to get afraid that I am not steeping them long enough to let the flavors really shine through!
But I digress because this tea did not have any problem developing good flavor!
When I starting taking sips of this tea it reminded me of something else apple cinnamon but I couldn’t figure out quite what. I tried to ask my boyfriend to name apple cinnamon things but he was ridiculous and completely unhelpful. But the point is it has a very nice, apple cinnamon flavor!
The base was lovely, too; not overpowering, but not lost under the flavors. I was able to simultaneously taste the apple cinnamon AND the tea :) I can see this becoming my nightly tea to unwind before bed…
Looking forward to trying my last flavor from this order- Berry Mint- tonight! :D
First to review! Wahoo!
I am not a HUGE chai fan, but I don’t necessarily DISLIKE chai… I am more in between because usually there is something in most chais that just sort of doesn’t strike my fancy…
This tea, however, seemed to know exactly what I didn’t like, removed it, and added some new flavors to make it even better!
This chai has the same basic components of chai, but then adds lavender and rose petals to smooth it out. In comparing to their Cha Cha Chai, this one does NOT have star anise, peppercorns, fennel and ginger- so, it’s much less spicy but still has that delicious cinnamony taste.
When I first got on the train and started drinking this it was Hot hot hot and the lavender was slapping me in the face (in a good way). As it cooled, I could pull out more chai flavors. When it got TOO cool, however (after about 2 hours or so), I lost a lot of the flavors that were once there. That COULD have been from the soy and the tea separating, though, which I have found can happen when I let some teas sit for too long. So I won’t hold that against the tea and will just rate it on what it tasted like when normal people who don’t buy houses 80 miles away from their work would drink it ;)
Looking forward to more teas from Steep City and also drinking this one more! I have a feeling the flavors will come out a lot more when simmered on the stove, so I’m going to try that. Also, it looked extra dark after 2 minutes so I pulled the bags out, but I think maybe 2.5-3.5 minutes might have allowed more chai flavors to pull though… Only time will tell!
Whoever’s idea it was to add lavender to chai knew what they were doing! :D
Preparation
I’m still the only person who’s left a tasting note for this tea? Travesty. Well, I gave a lot of it up to a swap so there will be at least a couple more people who have tried this on Steepster pretty soon. As soon as it makes it’s way through Canadian Customs and such anyway.
I see I noted last time that this tea is pretty mild at 3 minutes, and that’s still true for this pot. I think I got more chamomile in this pot of tea though because that’s coming through a bit stronger. Not enough to overwhelm anything but definitely enough to give some strength to it’s presence. All in all, can’t complain.
Preparation
My first order from Steep City Teas and I thought I’d go for the classic mint-chocolate flavour combination because I’ve always been a fan of those. Steep City puts their own little twist to it by adding some chamomile to the blend that has real chocolate chips in it, along with what I think is peppermint.
The flavour is pretty mild with a 3 minute steep. The mint is a bit stronger than the chocolate, but they are both clearly present. The chamomile adds an interesting under- and after-taste to the tea, which is pleasant. The black base is barely present.
Overall I think this is a good blend for the genre. Interesting little twist to it with the chamomile. Thumbs up.
Preparation
Sipdown!
I made this iced, with slices of lemon, frozen strawberries and I threw in some chia seeds for texture. Very very tasty, strawberry tangy tastic!
Not sure if I’ll get more of this tea, but I will be doing another Steep City order, but I’m just so piled up with teas at the moment.
Preparation
Gah, just one serving left after this one! Where’d all the tea go?
Candy tea, yay! Spent most the day sewing on owl feet and working on the tea blog. Now making artichokes for dinner, which I can’t stand. I hate preparing them and while I find they taste good, I dislike the effort required to eat them. Also a pain as it’s 31c / 90F outside, so the house is hot and hanging out next the artichokes boiling away sucks. Having Yaya Strawberry iced to keep cool.
Preparation
I only ever make big artichokes when I’m craving garlic butter. There are teensy artichokes available locally, but I’ve never tried cooking with them. They’re soft, and I think you can eat the whole thing.
I always wanted to try those little artichokes – I only seen them once at a local farmers market and they were very expensive! Like $4 each expensive.
Woot Woot! /first tea log of a Steep City tea dance
Okay tea peeps, this tea is killer! Very tangy, like a sugared gummy candy, fresh, super strawberry and a little creamy. Very delicious! Mmm, I love the tangyness of this tea! Next time I want to go to town on a bag of gummies, I should really reach for this tea instead!
(psssst, there is a promo code for us Steepster folk in the discussion boards and $4.75 for 2oz of YaYa Strawberry? Very nice!)
