One of the many things I love about weekends – the caffeinated dessert teas come out to play! I have been craving this one recently, so I prepared it for this evening’s enjoyment. Mmmmmm – good coconut flavor, smooth tea. Milk and sugar brings it over the edge.
Now that I’ve been experimenting with taking teas plain with lower steeping temps, I’m curious to bring some of this to work to see how I like it without milk.
I can’t believe how little of this tea is left in my cupboard – I did just buy an 8oz bag in January!
Preparation
Haven’t had this one in awhile, and was craving it last night. I prepared it, even though I try to stay away from caffeine in the evening. I did some tossing and turning, but it was worth it! :) Smooth, rich coconut with a supportive medium bodied tea. One of my favorites.
Preparation
I finally tried this as an iced tea (3 tablespoons of this, 3 tablespoons of River Shannon, 6 cups of water cold brewed for 12 hours, then an addition of some simple syrup and juice of half a lime).
It was really good, but not at all suitable as a refreshing drink with a meal or by itself. We had it with some noodles and we were underwhelmed…it practically screamed “I need some rum in me!!!” It shines as a base for an unusual tea based mixed drink! A sort of “Pirate’s Hard Iced Tea” if you will. I will definitely make some of this for a summer barbeque or similar casual summer party.
Preparation
I needed my fix!!! :)
In your opinion, if you like coconut, do you think a black tea with coconut like this would make a good iced tea? Part of me thinks it will be thai iced tea-ish and part of me is thinking it may be not so good. I guess there is only one way to find out!
Preparation
Wow, I’m always intrigued when something gets a 100. I have yet to give one out, but I think I may be an overly hard grader. ;-)
Today I walked and walked amongst the snow drifts, in the slush, across the ice, walked and walked and walked so that I could get more of this tea! I put the last of my stash in the Traveling Tea Box, and facing the weekend without my Organic Black with Coconut was toooo sad! I had a great big delicious creamy coconutty cup this evening in celebration of getting a whopping 8 oz bag :)
Preparation
Jillian – it did! :) The city was pretty shut down for the past two days because of all the snow, so I even called first before I went to the shop to make sure they were even open. Imagine my surprise when I arrived and the shop was packed with people needing to replenish their tea stocks! Certainly worth the wait – it warms my heart to see people taking their time to choose their teas with the shop owner, 2 oz of this, 4 oz of that – people with lists! People with their own containers asking for a fill up. Yay! Once the weather gets a little better I’m going to stroll over there and get a few I haven’t tried yet – the green teas from Spring 2009 have come in and there’s one that looks really good!
I made another pan of brownies tonight – I think there needs to be a brownie intervention in my house! I decided to change things up and serve Organic Black with Coconut with this sweet. It was good but there was a bit of competition between the coconut and the rich brownie – I think it was a little confusing to the palate. I prefer enjoying this tea all by its fantastic self.
After the busy day I had today, ooooof – I needed my favorite tea :) I prepared a double portion for my husband and I, and I was able to be still for a half hour! I feel 100% better. I never tire of this gentle coconut and good tea taste.
I just took my last sip and I’m going to walk my dog and get in bed and read my last bit of pleasure reading for awhile (AS Byatt’s the Children’s Book – FANTASTIC – almost done). My own class starts tomorrow and I’ll be full of homework!
Preparation
Yum. Still my favorite-est favorite!!! When I don’t know what I want – I make this. I don’t know if it’s the filtered water or if this portion is just extra scrumptious but the coconut is so fresh and alive! This one always gets a positive comment out of my husband.
Preparation
I chose this tea, my favorite, to be the FIRST TEA I PREPARED AT WORK!!!! Yes! The days of takeout tea are behind me, and I couldn’t be more pleased!!!!! I still have a few things to work out (I only have one strainer which I have to carry home each night until I get another, I need to bring in a coaster, a small dish to rest the strainer, etc.) but the tea tastes great – and that is what’s important!!!!! No more overpriced cardboard for me!!! Wheeeeee!!!!!
In honor of our Desert Island discussion, I’m drinking my pick :) Soooo delicious. I finally got a Brita Water filter/pitcher and made tea for the first time with filtered water – BIG difference! I can taste so many more of the delicate flavors. The coconut tastes so fresh that I want to chew on it!!!
