Smells like a pal lemon/Chamomile combo. The liquid is what you would expect of a bagged herbal. Post infusion I could smell the chamomile more than before. The taste is a lovely meet in the middle of herbs and lemon flavors! It’s actually quite delightful! I’m pleasantly surprised! I’m enjoying this one A LOT more than I thought I would.
1 C hot and 1 C cold and they are both yummy.

I’m sharing a bag with Meghann and Nichole. I’m finishing their boxes up today and will be mailing them out today, too!

This isn’t much for smell but the color is nice…a reddish-orange-brown. I don’t think it has that stereotypical Darjeeling taste to it but it has a nice silkiness on the tongue! It’s mellow with a slightly sweet end sip. This is a more relaxed black bagged tea it’s tasty but not what I would call a WAKE-ME-UP Cup!

Randomly chosen from my box of KRAZINESS – still more grassy then minty…see yesterday’s review…

This is a grassy green tea with mellow mint. It’s not overly minty at all. Notably grassy, however. It’s not gross but it’s not my fave.

There is little to no aroma on this one. The longer I ‘steeped’ the more saffron I could taste but it also got a little bitter. With the correct steeping times on this…it tastes like a medium strength black tea in a bag. The Saffron is more in the after taste. It’s not bad.

If over steepsted I think the aftertaste had a little coffee-like taste to it. Not bad if you like that coffee taste, I suppose.

My rating may change in the future but for now I will go with mid to upper 70s

Bagged Version.

Not too shabby.

It’s a tad bitter – but a good bitter. It’s quite strong and fairly malty. An impressive bagged Assam.

Aroma as I opened the tin…reminds me of a cross between English Breakfast and Darjeeling. Interesting.

Post Infusion Aroma – English Breakfast but a bit more chewier than I expected.

Color: Dark, Rich Red-Black

Taste: Robust!!! This is a really strong and flavorful English Breakfast…among the best I have tried, actually! This is really FAB!

Aftertaste: A nice, solid black tea with woodsy notes!

I liked this so much yesterday that I decided that I needed another cup today.

This is a delicious Earl Grey, and I think that what is intriguing me most about this tea is that it is a little different from other Earl Grey teas. VERY smooth. A rich, almost creamy taste to it – malty… yes, there is malt. That malty note melds with the bergamot and creates almost a creamy taste to the cup without it becoming an “Earl Grey Creme” type tea. Juicy and spirited without being sharp or perfume-y.

A lovely Earl Grey! The flavor is smooth. Black tea base is smooth and brisk. The bergamot is very orange-y and very little floral quality, but there is a sharpness in the background that is rather intriguing.

I really like this!

Mine is loose leaf. I really like the blend of spices in this one. When i don’t feel like breaking up my own spices and leaves for homemade blend of masala, I go with this stuff.

There are few estates in India that can produce a tea as expressive as Makaibari. The estate does have better offerings but Hampstead Tea’s one is still very impressive. Fresh, muscatel, a hint of grass.

I can only agree with the above. I like to heat my milk separately, whizz it up and then add a little boiling water and then the tea bag. It tastes really luxurious and not at all artificial.

Overall I am really enjoying this tea. I think I need to go back to make another cup or two today. It doesn’t seem to hold up well for a second steeping though. Perhaps giving it a fourth minute would have helped.
