Here’s Hoping Teabox – Round Seven- Tea #25
I used two of the teabags here for one mug. It seems like a CTC tea in the teabags but the blueberry flavor wasn’t lacking! I think I steeped the second cup a little too long (too brisk) and the blueberry flavor was gone because of it but the first cup was enjoyable.
Holidays TTB
This one is a bit tannic, but the blueberry is obviously blueberry which I really enjoy. I find it hard to find teas, especially berry teas that are truly a specific berry so this is nice. The black tea is a bit strong and really besides the blueberry there are no other flavors. I think mixed with a little bit of DavidsTea’s Blueberry Jam it could be lovely.
Flavors: Blueberry
Got this one for Christmas. Not impressed. I’ll admit I oversteeped it a bit but even so the Ceylon jumps out way too much and I don’t even taste any cranberry…. I’ll try this again at some point to double check but…. I really doubt it will improve even at a lower steep time.
Well it’s not great but it’s not worth dumping. I have 18 more tea bags to finish. The first steep was a little bitter, so on the second steep I took it out earlier and added some honey. Made it better but for some reason it’s still not quite what I was expecting. I think it would have been better if they had added real blueberries instead.
Preparation
Backlogging.
I brought this tea along with one other at one of those little specialty gourmet foods shops just to buy a little something after walking around. The tea bag smelled weird. The tea smelled weird. The tea tasted sour and tart and not in a good way. It had very little tea taste. I manged to drink more than I thought I would, which still wasn’t very much. I am willing to give it one more try at some point, then it goes.
I am rating this tea a 30, which is the lowest end of my meh range (30-40).
