1598 Tasting Notes
Thanks JustJames for sending this along to me. It was a delicious tea that I enjoyed (216)!
I taste delicious maltiness, and cinnamon and fresh air. I see it’s from the Sun Moon Lake region and it makes me think of all those teas from TTC that I’ve been sampling and I suddenly regret not tasting them closer enough to really compare the two. But, ah well. That’s how it goes. So many delicious teas – I’ll never be able to keep them straight so I will just savour each one as I get to it.
Great closing remark, because I can totally relate to that. Sometimes I am in the mood to really take in all the amazing layers of flavor, but other times that feels like work & really, I just want to enjoy a cup of tea without thinking too much. :)
Thank you Brenden for including this sample in my last order. It sounded so good that I had to drink it immediately. Unfortunately, I finished both cups of this a few hours ago so I don’t remember much, but I feel like I tasted spices and sweet potato and warm baked bread. It was delicious and I enjoyed each steep.
I might grab an oz for my next order just to get a better feel for it!
Yeah tried this from YS last year i think. Its decent but less of everything compared to a good dian hong.
Oh, wow! I went all day without tea because we went on a road trip and I was plannig to drink all the double-doubles from Timmies, and then I only ended up with one.
And it’s 10pm and this is my first cup of the day and I’m not at all upset I had to wait so long because I AM appreciating the heck out of this right now. It’s dark and rich, and maybe just a little oaky. I detect spice and chocolate notes and more. It has a slightly thicker mouthfeel that gives me ALL THE TASTES.
It’s delicious Thanks Sil!(219)
Thanks VariaTEA for this one. It made a tasty latte – sweet, smooth and very buttery! I really enjoyed it! It’s a fairly mild flavour though, so I’m not sure I would buy this one on it’s own, but maybe if I split it?
So this brings me down one tea, but because VariaTEA was kind enough to drop off samples for me while she picked up her half of the silly horse tea (from A&D), I’m now at 219!

I’ve had this cold, and I’m drinking this warm now and I can say that this tea is not as good as Movie Night. You want weirdo-popcorn tea, drink that one. This one is much sweeter and that’s ok if it’s your thing but I wouldn’t want to restock this after I finish this cup.

I grabbed 50g of this from Steeped & Infused when they gave me a huge rebate for doing a survey and I found that this was actually the best of the ones I tried. It’s sweet, and has a neat texture to it, almost like creme brulee.
