I‘m a little disappointed with this one, not because it was bad (I enjoyed a couple teapots of it today – much to the chagrin of my poor bladder), but because I was hoping the flavor would be more striking. The cake taste was the first one to come out for me, but that took a good number of mouthfuls and intentional searching to fully materialize. The strawberry flavor is much more hidden than I was hoping for -I can taste its presence, but it’s as if it’s lurking in the shadows (I’m not sure why I made that sound so ominous – perhaps I am feeling halloweeny). Overall this is a good tea, but it just didn’t live up to my apparently high expectations.

drank Premium Green by Stash Tea

This is a classic green tea that I enjoyed for years, before branching out to trying other tea companies. Although I enjoyed this tea for so long, it really isn’t anything special. It was just an old, reliable, does the trick kind of green tea. I had to make sure I watched my water temperature with this tea, because if it was too hot, it had a tendency to get bitter, Also, I find that you do not get as many brews out of the quantity of tea that you use. However, considering how inexpensive this tea is, it’s still a great value, and a good starter tea. It just doesn’t need to be a staple in my cupboard anymore.

This tea tastes like I’m eating a bowl of mostly mixed melons, heavy on the watermelon, with pops of apples and strawberries. As I commented on another person’s tealog (I believe their name is Bonnie?) With my first sip, I could have sworn I tasted and smelled a touch of banana, but alas there are no bananas listed in the ingredients. Perhaps it is just me who is going bananas? I’m enjoying this tea hot, but I can’t wait to try it cold…I think it’s gonna be hot day gold. I wish I found this at the beginning of summer, but still I’m stoked!

First of all, I am not a huge fan of rooibos tea, and with the flavor combination of pomegranate and cranberry, I should have know that this tea was going to be too tart (and icky) for my liking. I’m not sure what I was thinking when I bought this one. Thankfully, my brother seems to be enjoying the remainder of the box, but even he adds a touch of honey to “edit” the taste.

drank Indian Summer by DAVIDsTEA
357 tasting notes

I tried a sample of iced Indian Summer at Davids, and I found it fruity and refreshing. It tastes like a fruit punch that leans towards a cherry flavor. This would be perfect as a summertime blend, although I understand that the term Indian summer refers to a heat wave that occurs in the Fall. I bought a small sample to bring home and try hot, and although I enjoy this one both hot and cold, my preference is as a cold tea. I think it’s delicious with no sugar or other additives, just over ice and on a sunny day.

Like a few other Davids teas that I’ve tried, this one confused me at my first sip, but after a few more swigs, I decided it was alright. I must admit however, that first sip really reeked of disappointment to me. I am in love with Davids Big Apple tea for its fresh fruity taste, so in comparison this Persian Apple tea tastes so floral to me that I am left searching for any hint of apple. It’s like I’m bobbing for apples and I keep getting mouthfuls of rose petals. I suppose it’s possible that when I scooped the dry tea, I may have gotten a strange ratio of ingredients? After my initial disappointment however, I came to appreciate this tea on its own merits. It’s refreshing, light, and versatile enough to be enjoyed as either a hot or cold tea. It’s not bad, I will enjoy finishing off my little sample, but I don’t think this is one that I will jump to restock.

drank Red Velvet Cake by DAVIDsTEA
357 tasting notes

I’ve never tried actual red velvet cake, so I can’t speak for the authenticity of the flavor of this tea, but I get the chocolate cake taste right from the first sip. Yum! I’ve tried this one both as a hot tea and as a cold one, and I don’t recommend it cold unless you like to drink wearing a blindfold. Whether hot or cold, this tea has a greasy film on top that makes it less appealing (likely from the chocolate chips). So when it gets cold the greasy bits float on top, becomes a more prominent whitish solidified oil, and creates an unappealing film on the cup.

Wonderfully fragrant both dry and brewed. The aroma of this tea is spot on, and the taste is very good also. To me, the taste starts with more strawberry flavor then finishes with the tartness of rhubarb. I’m not a huge fan of many of Davids herbal teas, but I must say that this one was a pleasant surprise.

drank Pumpkin Chai by DAVIDsTEA
357 tasting notes

I must preface this with saying that I am not really a lover of chai, pumpkin, cloves, or cinnamon, (at least in my tea), but the SA at Davids encouraged me to give this a try. Although I don’t love it in that “gotta have it” kind of way, I’m glad I listened to her suggestion. I like to drink my tea with no milk or sugar, but I can see how those little additions could certainly make this tea even more rich and dessert-like. Personally, I wouldn’t buy this one again, just because there are so many other teas that I prefer, but for a tea with so many contents that are “not my favorite” I am very glad that I gave this one a taste. Having said that, I would still reccommend this one to any pumpkin lovers out there

That’s my mug! I’ve never really been a huge fan of Winnie the Pooh, but I like the fact that this mug is more or less clear. Plus, I can’t help but giggle when I say “ewww …I have Pooh on my mug” and people in the room gawk in horror before realizing I’m talking about Winnie. Am I easily amused? heck yeah!

A little something about my interests? – In no particular order, I love tea, makeup, paper crafting (card making), home renovations, and gardening.

As a rule, I tend to drink my tea without adding anything, but if that doesn’t work for me, I indulge in the fact that rules are meant to be broken. Yep! I’m such a rebel…sometimes I even color outside the of lines :P
