(I’m reviewing the 2016 version)

Very slow to steep (2 tsp took ~10 min to steep in 600mL of 80 deg C water, I was expecting 2 minutes)

Deliciously smooth (no bitterness anywhere), very fragrant and fresh. Buttery, a tiny bit floral/fruity as Jin Xuan can be, but with the characteristic milk flavour (not cream, it is milk). Delicious and easily a daily drinker. It tastes like cooked/steamed milk but is not toasty. It is entirely naturally flavoured, but tastes as flavourful as one with added flavour. It has the perfect balance of sweetness and steamed milk flavour vs the natural flavours of the Jin Xuan varietal of oolong.

180 °F / 82 °C 8 min or more 2 tsp 20 OZ / 600 ML

Bio

I am a biochem major hoping for a career in research genetics and evolutionary biology. I love science fiction and spend too much of my time reading comic books. I’m a passionate keeper of spiders, cacti, and exotic plants. I eat a vegan, plant-based diet for moral and environmental reasons (I mention this only because it is relevant to which flavoured teas I drink).

I drink mostly flavoured and low caffeine teas/tisanes, but I will try anything twice. As far as pure teas go, I gravitate towards whites, yellows, and jade oolongs. I’m always open for trades and sample sales/exchanges. Message me any time :)
