Tastes like sour jam. Not bad, but not my cup of tea.

Of the three Adagio samples I received, this one was my favorite. There is still an astringent flavor the loomed over all three samples, but with this one it didn’t feel out of place. There was a smoothness to the astringency that made it pleasant to drink. A balance that didn’t make anything seem out of place.

COLD BREW
Mild in flavor, no sign of astringency. Delicious!

Flavors: Astringent, Grass

There is a distinct spiciness to this tea that remains on my tongue until it is followed by a subtle sweetness. I can smell the cinnamon. The deeper I get into my cup the more flavorful it becomes. What I really want is to thicken this up, add some milk or something, but since I don’t have any milk I’ll have to settle on the knowledge that I’m never happy when I add milk to a chai.

Tasting #1 – Steep Time 2 Minutes
Light roasted aroma is matched by the light roasted flavor.

Tasting #2 – Steep Time 4 Minutes
There is a distinct astringency to this tea now that over powers the roasted flavor and any natural flavors budding from the leaves.

Tasting #3 – Steep Time 6 Minutes
The astringent and the roasted flavors have mellowed out at this point and merged together to create a really mediocre tea.

COLD BREW
No notice of roasted flavors, the astringency takes over. Nothing gained, everything loss. A serious disappointment.

Flavors: Astringent, Dry Grass, Roasted

Tasting #1 – Steep Time 2 Minutes
There is an astringent aroma, which is always concerning when it comes to tea. The flavor is very mild, I want to call it musty but its musty before it gets musty. Maybe dusty?

Tasting #2 – Steep Time 4 Minutes
Now I know its the smell of chestnuts that make me weary of this tea. I’m so glad chestnuts aren’t part of my holiday ritual because I think everything about it is gross.

Tasting #3 – Steep Time 6 Minutes
There is a very mild sweetness to the aroma, and the flavor is still astringent but the weird chestnut thing is gone. Overall the tea is pretty mediocre and I find that I have very little love for it.

Tasting #1 – Steep Time 2 Minutes
Deep amber color paired with the musty aroma of old leaves. But the aroma doesn’t translate into flavor, the flavor is quite pleasant and subtle.

Tasting #2 – Steep Time 4 Minutes
Every time I go to take a sip I am overwhelmed with the aroma and I think to myself that maybe I should wash this tea first as I should with a pu-erh. But the flavor is so much more subtle than the aroma that I’m not overwhelmed but surprised.

Tasting #3 – Steep Time 6 Minutes
Now that I know what to expect I am really enjoying this tea.

COLD BREW
This tea became a deep woody brown in the fridge. I was nervous about how it was going to turn out, especially after thinking it should’ve been washed when hot. But I think if I did wash this tea before cold brewing it then it wouldn’t have had as much rich flavor. I definitely prefer this tea hot, I think the tea just pairs better at a warmer temperature.

COLD BREW
This chai was nice and spicy, with a refreshing hint of mint at the end to keep you drinking more. I had originally gotten this for my boyfriend, only to remember that he doesn’t enjoy anything with mint in it. So I finally got around to it and I’m pretty sure if I didn’t tell him that there was any mint in it he wouldn’t have noticed. The mint is just this magical element that nullifies the spiciness.

What an interesting tea. I don’t care much for flavors, but this one tasted even. Not too sweet, not too fruity, the flavors just all came together. I just want to try it iced now!

Cold Brew
I cold brewed this twice with slightly different results. The first time was very light, not very much flavor. The second time it packed a better flavor and all I wanted was a little bit of sweetener to make the perfect iced tea. This cold brew makes me love this tea even more.

What an amazing tea. I’m always surprised when I like something new. I don’t tend to lean toward the white teas, but this one was soothing and satisfying.

Cold Brew
While I usually prefer the cold brew, this time I was only partially satisfied. It was good, but this tea was phenomenal hot with cookies.

Smells great, but it doesn’t translate to the flavor. Again, this might be a tea that I need to add a little more to get the flavor I want.
