drank Darjeeling Tea by Twinings

Bought a box of this in bags to try, since I had never had darjeeling tea before. Since I am not a floral tea person the scent of this turned me off so I cannot judge the tea taste.

drank China Oolong by Twinings

Well bought a box of this in bags to try it out. Either I am not brewing it correctly or its too light of a tea for me because I couldnt taste any flavor. I will keep in on hand for friends who dont like strong tea.

Samantha

Likewise, I’m drinking a cup now but I can’t taste anything other than hot water!

Teaspoon

I tried it one more time only this time using two bags and hotter water….got some flavor but it wasnt worth the trouble, guess Im just not a Oolong type of gal

John Grebe

Oolong is supposed to be a lighter tea than black tea. If you want it stronger try brewing it with 2 teabags per cup instead of one.

Just finished my second cup of this brewed loose….its pleasantly good, not fancy or exotic but good english tea time tea.Puts lipton loose to shame. I could drink this anytime of day,its not a kick in the pants like twinings irish breakfast, but just a simple decent english cup of tea. This will be a staple in my cupboard from now on.

drank Earl Grey by Teas Etc

This is too strong of a Earl Grey for me. The bergamot is a overpowering camphor smell. I suppose if you had a cold and wanted to inhale vicks vapor rub it would do the trick. The smell turned me off so much I cant drink the tea.

I suppose I owe this little grocery store teabag tea a great deal of gratitude. It has been my fall/winter companion for many years. It was my push to get my first “special” tea cup and lead me to explore into the world of whole leaf. I love the smell of this tea and the gentle warmth it brought to my soul especially during the quiet, golden color days of autumn. I remember my girlfriend turning me onto this tea and her laughing as I thought the name was “constant comet” like some etheral fireball streaking across the heavens.

Isn’t it wonderful to have lived the experience of gratitide? This is once again a challenge to me to stop for a moment and reflect on this very moment and enjoy. I gaze with at my favourite cup filled with the liquour of life, simple water and leaves. The simple teabag = gratitude.

Since this was only the second Earl Grey I’ve ever tried after twinings, all I can say is it was very different..Im not a floral tea scent drinker and I could smell the rose pedals so that turned me off, but I imagine its a very good tea if you are partial to floral scented teas since Teas ect teas win awards.

One of my favorite teas, although I’ve only had it in teabags. When I first tried this tea I couldnt believe their wasnt any “bite” or astringency at all with this tea.Smooth is the only word that comes to mind.Ive yet to overbrew it to a bitter end, and am not sure you can.Im trying my darnest to get my grocer to order this in loose leaf for me.Ive heard twinings isnt making this available in the UK anymore just the US market..the world will be a poorer place if this tea ever dissapears.

…found tea bags in a shop at Heathrow Airport in London.

No wonder is this an award winning tea.The bouquet is mysteriously captivating,a cross between earth and sky, the colorhue that changes from an autumn preripe persimmon yellow to a coppery red/brown maple leaf hue.Taste is slightly earthy without the dust or twinge of anything dry or alum. You cant seem to overbrew this tea with negative results. Each brew takes you farther within the mystery, a warming walk secure and complex, anxiously awaiting each new vista.

Finding all the pleasures and awakenings in Loose Leaf tea late in life, but thankful I did.Theres something very calming about tea, from the bouquet that wafts from the tin to the design the fannings left in the bottom of the cup.Perhaps its not the refinement from the ceremony of preparation, nor the enjoyment of warmth, scent and flavor, but perhaps its the pure and simple pleasure of enjoying something that is elemental, unassuming and humble in its existance.
