5 Tasting Notes
It’s a nice tea, but I get mostly Ceylon and almost no cherry. I wish I could pick up on the cherry flavor a bit more, because the cherry aroma of the dry leaf, though subtle, smelled natural a d enticing.
I’m using the electric pot at work, so the water is just under boiling. Maybe if I use boiling water, more of the cherry flavor will come through.
It doesn’t taste much like Black Forest cake, but I like it. The flavor is mild, and every now and then I get a hint of cherry or chocolate. I find it very relaxing, and just got a second box.
That said, don’t get it if you want strong flavors or a true Black Forest flavor.
Currently drinking this. Accident steeped it for six minutes, so it is a little bitter. The dry leaf smelled a bit artificial to me, but brewed the vanilla is lovely, sweet, creamy, reminds me of marshmallows. Will definitely try it again, and will carefully watch the brewing time. Next time will add some milk.
